Our school is called Aristotle College of Thessaloniki after the Greek Philosopher Aristotelis. It is a private college that includes all levels of education from kindergarden until Lyceum and has a high quality of students and activities. Specifically, Gymnasium and Lyceum has students from ages 12 until 18.
Our school is placed in the sub capital of Greece, Thessaloniki, a beautiful city by the sea with great history that combines the traditional with the modern style of life. It has two universities, Aristotle University and Macedonian University, many libraries and museums, theaters and generally is a city of culture!! It has public buses as transportation and the airport of “Macedonia” is only 15 minutes from the school. Beautiful beaches near the sea are close to the city such as Chalkidiki.
Aristotelio College, our school, is a school with many activities for students and creates opportunities to improve their education, form a rich CV but also creates a family environment. Moto of the school is the phrase “A happy student can be a good student”. Some of the activities taken place at schools are:
- Model of United Nations (in English), where students are representing delegates and support their opinions after they had studied and examined articles of political, environmental, cultural, health and financial issues with the participation of many schools. This year especially our students will visit Saint Demetrios, a Greek – Americal School in Astoria, New York.
- E-twinning projects with partners from Greece, Bulgaria, Belgium, Slovakia and Ukraine and our primary school is the founder of an Erasmus+ project.
- Environmental and cultural projects, where we have been awarded the green flag of Eco schools network, FEE.
- Every year runs the project of Union for Business in Youth (Company program) where a group of students organises a virtual business and all the income goes to charity. At the end of the year, they complete a questionnaire at the self-assessment platform of ESP Entrepreneurial Skills Pass. This certification verifies skills such as self-confidence, creativity, teamwork, resourcefulness, taking responsibility and initiative.
- Participating in student conferences of Computer Science, Physics, Maths and competitions. Participation for the European Student Parliament Debate Science happens every two years and we have representatives at the Greek and European Parliament of Youth.
- A visit to CERN, the Research Centre in Geneva, happens every year and the students fulfill Masterclasses in Physics.
- Many of our students take part to poetry competitions, literature, debates, sciences and maths with great results. At the same time, 3rd year students sit exams for universities, where we have over 95% success at good Universities.
- School has many awards from the theater club, photography club and all students take part to a large painting exhibition. All students speaks English fluently and they also speak a second language either French or German.
