13) Day of Freedom (17 November 2019)

  • 17 November 2019 is the day when people of the Czech Republic celebrate 30 years after the fall of a communist regime. We decided to contribute to the anniversary and prepare our Day of Freedom :-)

We have disscussed with pupils from 7th and 6th grade about freedom and we have read short texts in English magazine for kids.

Then pupils have chosen 10 words connected with freedom on their own.

You can see their word clouds of freedom here:

At Rosengårdskolen we had a great dikussion on what freedom meant to us. This is what came out of the diskussion.

At Turenne, each class worked in different ways :)

    FREEDOM

Freedom is, for a man, his ability to act at will. Willpower is called the ability of the person to set goals and decide to achieve them. Universal freedom, as it stands today, is the cumulative result of individual, social and political freedom, as well as of internal freedoms.
Freedom is guaranteed by equal opportunities and opportunities for all members of society. Also, is that everyone can participate in the political process with suggestions, arguments in dialogue, voting and control of policy makers. All citizens have the right to vote and political beliefs.

Marieta Zisopoulou and Konstantinos Gousios, (13 years), both pupils at the "Athina" school in Trikala-Greece.
