Culture in a box a game played in UK
We played a game called “culture in a box”
What we did was our class divided into 5 groups of 6
Each group was asked to think of stereotypes of Germany, Romania, Poland and Croatia
We had to spend 20 minutes in our groups deciding what our table thought the stereotypes of our partners were. Positive Stereotypes and of course negative. We were asked not to consider our own views, but what we thought our neighbours would choose
Then we had to write our stereotypes on a sheet of paper and put it in the box. Pass our box on to the next table. The next table would compare what we had written with what they came up with.
We decided that correct predictions represented common stereotypes.
We than had to draw 6 images of one of the partners on the sides of our boxes and our neighbours had to guess what we would draw. Correct guesses of the drawings were seen as common visons of our partner countries.
