Let's celebrate the EDL with a game!

    September

    10-21

Step 1: Students will place their mother tongue on the world map with information about their language using https://www.zeemaps.com.

Go to : https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=3154244  for the editable version. I think you need to sign up first, but I'm not sure. Maybe it works either ways.

Now select “Additions” from the top menu, then “Add marker detailed” and when the box “Add entry” shows then complete your information. Choose the location, then write the description, then choose Media and maybe it would be nice to add a video from youtube with the alphabet or one that we will make with our students. In the description we can include information such as the number of letters in the alphabet, vowels and consonants, where the language is spoken, eg. if it is spoken only in your country or elsewhere too, the origins of the language). The information will be written both in English and in our mother tongue.

Step 2: Teachers and students will add the phrases in the padlets.

    1. greetings and question words

    2. colours and numbers

    3. food and hobbies

    4. weather and idioms

    September

    24-28

Step 3: Students will record these phrases in their mother tongue in the same padlets as in Step 2. The easiest way to do it is by clicking on the three dots in your padlet entry and selecting “voice’: record voice from your microphone. Otherwise you can upload an audio from your computer.

Step 4: We will create games with https://learningapps.org/ Suzan suggested https://quizizz.com. If you feel more comfortable with that you are free to use it. Each country creates a game.

Maybe we can all write here what game we will make so that there is variety?
