Zhinvali Reservoir - Complex Destination Reservoir In East Georgia, in the  Dusheti municipality, north of Zhinvali, 70 km from Tbilisi. It is situated in the middle of the Aragvi River. situated between Alevi,  Gudamakari and Kartli ranges. Area 11,5 km². The volume of water is 520 mln. useful volume of 370 mln. maximum depth of 75 m. Established in 1985 in connection with the construction of  hydropower plant  Aragvi River In the valley. The generated electricity output is 130,000 kW. The part of the river Aragvi, where the Zhinvali reservoir was built, was abolished and the river ecosystem is no longer part of the former river.
