    Town Tower

    A town tower was an important part of the towns fortification. The town tower of Třebíč, today 75 meters hight. The tower was used for observing various dangers as fire or approaching enemy forces. During the reconstructions of the town and its fortification, the tower was also adapted, and the citizens had a room for a trumpeter and a clock chamber created in it. In 1577 the tower was struck by large fire and was equipped with a new gold-plated dome and a truss a year leter. Today the tower clock is one of the biggest in Europe. It belongs to the most beautiful spires in our country. 

    St Procopius‘ Basilica

    The basilica of St. Procopius is the Romanesque-Gothic church in Třebíč. It was built on the site of the original Marian chapel at the Benedicte monastery approximately between 1240 and 1280. St Procopius‘ Basilica became national monument in year 2002 and together with Jewish quarter got on the UNESCO World Heritage Site in the world 2003.

    Stadium

    It was built in 1959. SK Horácká Slávie Třebíč team play here. Everybody is interested in matches. The town is always busy with the fans coming form other cities.

    Jewish cemetry
    It is one of the most important monument of its kind in Moravia and it is one of largest Jewish cemetries in the Czech republic.
    The Jewist cemetry it has been inscribed in The World Heritage List since 2003.
    The original cemetry was probably situated on the ground near the monastery fortification wall.
    The new cemetry is located about 400 meters from Jewish quarter, in the northern part of Hrádek Hill.
    The oldest tombston is from the 17th century. On Jewish tombstones are traditional Jewish symbols.
    For example the Star of David, a couple of heraldic lions,a crown as a symbol of Torah.
    Today the cemetry covers about 12,000 square meters. In the Jewish cemetry there are buried 
    for example many representatives of Jewish community, 20 jewish soldiers which was killed in WWI.

     

    Jaroměřice castle

    State Chateau Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou - a Baroque National Historic Landmark, together with St.. Margaret is a dominant and symbol of the city Jaroměřice Rokytnou. There is a nice park where you can relax.
