Relevance and aims of the project

  • One of the main goals of today school is to develop skills necessary for future education, meaningful and
active life in modern society. Many researches tried to define which skills and competencies are most
important for future life. In many resources we can find different tops of life skills, but in most of them
the problem solving, creativity, analytic thinking, collaboration, communication skills are mentioned. We,
teachers, have to find new ways and methods to fulfill this aim and to prepare students to lead productive
and successful lives once they leave school and enter into the realm of adulthood.
Primary school children like to explore, analyze, experiment. The best way to master the knew
knowledge for new generation students is practically perform activities: by observing, testing, making
experiments, analyzing and making conclusions. By researching and experimenting students develop
their senses: eyesight, touch, hearing. The eye-hand coordination develops too. Children learn
to keep attention for longer time, develop cleverness and quick reaction. It is very important that
researching activities helps students to learn how to solve problems, to think critically, to reason and
make conclusions and to discuss rationally by providing reasons and argument their opinion. Through
the active participation students gain life experience and better understand the processes of the nature
    and the world around them.
IT equipment is not a new thing for primary school students. Children very often uses various devices for
the games and entertainment. Modern teacher have to integrate IT into the lesson, training and learning
process and make it to a motivating tool for learning, gaining the knowledge and shearing it with others,
    for communication.
The main aim of the project is to develop the students‘ abilities and skills to understand the science
during the tests and experiments. For the implementation of this aim we settled some goals:
    1. To learn how to make practical experiments, to record them, to formulate hypotheses, to draw
    conclusions.
    2. To provide the necessary knowledge on how to safely use laboratory equipment, materials and various
    techniques.
    3. To promote ICT competencies - the totality of knowledge, skills and abilities that a learner acquires
    when preparing computer presentations.
    4. To exchange educational and working methods and innovations among partners in order to improve
the educational process and the quality of teaching.
Despite a big effort to make the training process more active, front training in the classroom still is the
most common method in most of schools. With this project we are seeking to show how the active
learning can improve the quality of training and learning and encourage our colleagues to use active
    training methods into the lessons.
