Schools cooperating

5th primary school of Koropi,  20 km east of Athens. 6th grade, 24 pupils. 

Collège Van Gogh  Émerainville, town, 30km east of Paris. 1st classe of junior high school with 22 pupils. Cooperative class with Freinet pedagogy. 

Project goal

The goal of our project is to respect and raise awareness of the different origins and linguistic variations of the children of our classes, promote diversity, intertcomprehension and solidarity. 

Pedagogy

It comprises a cooperative and inclusive pedagogy. It adopts plural approaches, multilingual and  multicultural approaches for teaching foreign languages.

Project for correspondence and exchange of cultural and sociocultural elements of the languages spoken by the pupils. The correspondance is done by normal poste.

Stages of the project

1. Definition of the projet

Councils between pupils of the classrooms separately are organised in thw begining, the middle and the end of the project.. Pupils exchange ideas, desirs end share individual and group tasks.

In October, we realise a counsil of children and a communication between the teachers cooparating. We planed the tasks of our first exchange (correspondance) .

2, Project realisation

          1st step

The greek class sends a parcel with a card and an artistic creation. The creation is a world map with birds flying over the countries along with travelling words.

  2md step

In November, the french class sends a parcel with the letters and photos of their school and of the flags of their origin countries. The school is a Babel Tower. 

      

In December, greek pupils answer with letters and a surprise! A ball where they wrote their names and words in different languages! 

 

  

 

3rd step 

Greek pupils send the "travelling box" with plenty of surprises that they created themselves in different languages: recipy book with traditional greek recipies, a book to present their city, Koropi, other books to present their country and  a book to present the greek mythology. They also send a big drawing " Europe and Zeys" as well as many small symbolic gifts.

In the meantime the greek class reads at school the book "The ball of their lives" ...
