Small, round cookies made from honey-cooked pastries are called "mladencici" because they are preparing for Mladenci, an Orthodox holiday that is celebrated on March 22nd. This holiday is beautiful, solemn, springful, as a sign of love and harmony.

Mix soft and smooth dough and leave it for about half an hour to grow. Stretch the dough into a circle with thickness of about 5 mm, and then with the top of a round glass take out the circle shapes. Do not knead the remaining dough too much, just fold it in and then lightly press it and then stretch it back into a crust and take the circle shapes out. Line them up on a paper coated baking tray and leave them a little longer to rest before baking. Sting them with a tube in a few places and bake it on 180 degrees, for about 10 minutes. Daub cakes with honey and walnut, while they are still hot, and serve it. |
