Impact and cascade training in Aldaia - Spain

  • Impact and cascade training actions planned in Aldaia for 2019-2020

    • Innovation and Research Project "Breakout edu: let's discover inclusion"

We will create a Breakout edu based on "role models", persons having overcome barriers on different fields of knowledge, acting as inspirators of inclusion (not to set barriers in ourselves nor in others). The fist phase will be a debate about the concept of inclusion. The second phase will be a research on possible role models, working on their biography on different supports and preparing some challenges for the Breakout edu. The work in this second phase will be done by cooperative learning. Role models will be chosen from diverse cultural backgrounds (preferently from our NoMI partners islands). The final Breakout edu will involve tasks and challenges in different languages, with special attention to use them in an inclusive way. Along the project, teachers and students will be trained in Breakout edu, Debate, Service-Learning, Project-Based Learning, Cooperative Learning methodologies (NoMI experienced and exchanged methodologies will be part of this training)

    • Annual Improvement Program - Cultural Enrichment project

Students will create an inclusive guide of Valencia heritage - island of stone (riverbed premises and city center museums). The guide will take in account cognitive, communicative and visual accessibility. We may use radio if finally some section is an audioguide.

    • Annual Improvement Program - Pilot project "Junior tutors"

Older students (4ESO level, 15 years old), already formed as mediators (a well established program in our school) will be present, on Thursday afternoon, at the school Library, to act as "Junior tutors", i.e. to orientate and accompany younger students (1ESO level, 12 years old, in their first year in our school), in order to facilitate their transition to Secondary level and to ease their inclusion.

    • Annual Improvement Program - Inclusive breaks through cooperative games

Students trained as mediators will dinamize, twice a week, cooperative games during the morning break, to stimulate inclusion.

    • Campaigns on Inclusion and Natural heritage

Along the scholar year, September and October will be devoted to Education and Inclusion (island of heart) and April, May and June to Natural heritage (island of wind). We want to join, particularly, the celebration of Earth Day on its 70 anniversary.

    • Annual training Program - Seminar "Inclusive methodologies"

Teachers will enrol in a seminar about "Inclusive methodologies", to be trained and share pedagogical experiences about these approaches. NoMI experienced and exchanged methodologies will play a major role in this training.
