eTwinning Day 2018

  • Our students at Irain Eskola Publikoa in Lesaka (Navarre, Spain) have celebrated eTwinning Day 2018 by recreating two artworks; one painted by Gustavo de Maeztu, and the other one by Ito Jakuchu. They have done this work with the help of the ICTs teacher, and their two English teachers. This year's eTwinning Day has been celebrated on the 9th of May, and the theme has been cultural heritage. Since our project is on the same topic, we thought we could do something special and share it with you. All activities explained below have been done in just one 50 minute lesson!

"Evening Party", by Gustavo de Maeztu

Our Year 5 students (10-11 years old) have cut out the figures shown in the painting, coloured them, and painted a background similar to the one in the painting, as well as a foreground. In their recreation of the artwork the figures have become alive and danced to the sound of jazz music.

This is the original painting by Gustavo de Maeztu, which we have taken from http://www.museogustavodemaeztu.com/eu/portfolio-item/evening-party/

And here is the video of our students' recreation of the artwork:

Our Year 5 students have also produced a text with information about Gustavo de Maeztu and his artwork "Evening Party", which we reproduce here:
