In this activity the task was to create a math problem, the solution of which is the path to the presentation of the partner school, class. This was done in three steps:
Students developed rules for what the task should be (How to create math task with postcards):
1. Create a presentation, video or something similar about your school and it's participants.
2. Share the presentation by link.
3. Create a linear equation and solve it. The answer can be natural number.
4. Use http://bit.do/ , copy the link of the presentation there and shorten it with the answer to the linear equation.
5.Send a view of your city or a postcard made by you. Add a mathematical task of linear equations and the created link. Add a description on how the link is formed using the answer of the equation.
Tutorial
In cooperation, students created a e-book with the tasks received and the content of the presentation. Read this free book made on StoryJumper
Students evaluated the benefits of this activity through Tricider discussion.
When making a summary, the pupils learned:
- a new ideas from the other school ,
- haw to work in groups,
- how to use shortening links http://bit.do/,
- how to use https://learningapps.org/,
- how to make and design postcard,
- a lot of interesting information about the history of the other school.
