    I know what I eat means healthy eating and lifestyle

     

    Goals:

    Students will know:

    1. what a healthy diet is

    2. what healthy components are

    3. how much and how often should they eat during the day

    4. what they should eat to live longer

     

    The lesson is a discussion about healthy eating and lifestyle.

     

    Theme "Nutrition" in anatomy.
    Step 1 Formulation of the results to be achieved on the basis of the state standards for the subject of biology, the program. Determines goals and objectives. Prioritization.
    Step 2 How to determine if the student has reached the desired result? What to consider as a proof of pupil's knowledge and understanding? One should think about the topics of the program, by specifying how their learning will be assessed.
    Step 3 Describe the key words: what knowledge (facts, concepts, theories, principles) should be acquired, skills (processes, procedures and learning strategies-methods) should be used to achieve the desired result? What student activities should be used to obtain the necessary knowledge and skills. What should be taught how to guide the student so that he can learn more effectively in the learning process. What resources are needed?

    Proposed Goals:
    1. Pupils will know the concepts: diet and diet
    2. Pupils will be able to use their knowledge and understanding of nutrition to create a balanced diet for themselves and others.
    3. Pupils will understand their eating habits and will be able to identify ways to improve their nutrition.
    Critical Issues
    1. What is a healthy diet?
    2. Do you eat properly? How do you know that?
    3. How could you explain that one person has the same diet healthy and harmful to another?
    4. Why in Latvia, despite the widely available information about a healthy diet, there are so many health problems caused by malnutrition?
    Comprehension
    The student will understand that ...
    - a balanced diet determines the mental and physical health of the body;
    - The dietary pyramid shows guidelines for proper nutrition;
    - The nutritional requirements for each individual are individual, this is determined by the age of the person, his lifestyle, weight and general health;
    - A healthy lifestyle requires a person to act individually, sometimes even to make uncomfortable decisions for himself.
    The student will know
    - what are the terms: proteins, fat, carbohydrates, cholesterol;
    - groups of foods and their nutritional value;
    - dietary pyramid guidelines;
    - factors (variables) affecting nutritional requirements;
    - health problems caused by inappropriate nutrition.
    The student will be able to
    - Read, interpret and evaluate food labels;
    - to analyze nutrition based diets;
    - Plan a balanced diet for yourself and others.
