    "SCHOOL INVASION" PROJECT

    Project presented by Cécile and Franck ( School Bolivar A)

     

    1. Objectives:

    The objective is to create a space invaders collective work that will be exhibited in the school, distributed in the premises in the manner of Invader on two different supports:

    - Invasion of tiled space invaders scattered throughout the school

    - Group photo panel gathering all space invaders

    - Creation of a plan / booklet allowing to go in search of all the space invaders of the school

    In connection with the Erasmus + project: to make the European partners discover an artist

    French contemporary and his work.

    2- Teaching interests of the project:

    Artistic approach: Development of creativity in the composition effort: drawing, its adaptation to the mosaic, the exploration of shapes, colors and textures.Work "in the style of", discover a contemporary artist.

    Human approach: Development of thoroughness, precision and patience respecting a principle of chronology. The exhibition of the various creations makes it possible to register the individual project in a group purpose.

    Historical approach: The mosaic is a form of artistic expression born in the Greek civilization (mosaics pavement pebbles), which found its nobility thanks to the Romans and throughout the Christian era, abandoned in the 18th century, then brought up to date at the beginning of the 20th century with the appearance of new manufactured materials.

    CLASS VISITS

     

    It would be interesting to see how digital is applied in the Seville classes in terms of both classical subjects and learning English or differentiated pedagogy.It would be interesting to see how the school copes with children in very great difficulty or in a situation of handicap.

                             2nd  MEETING IN SEVILLE: SHORT-TERM STAFF JOINT TRAINING EVENT

    MEETING MINUTES

    As established in the 1st Transnational Meeting, on January 17th  18th  and 19th  2018, a short training event was held in Seville in which the professors of the following schools participated.

    • St. Austin´s Catholic Primary:  Colette Hickey and Kathy Baird.
    • Romanian partner: Vasilica Gazdac and Anamaria Pop.
    • I.C. Francesco Petrarca: Antonia M. Lovullo, Sabrina Alletto and Giuseppina Grasso.
    • Ecole Simon Bolivar A: Maurice Ould Abdesslam,  Frank Jungo and  Cécile Lassalle.
    • Ecole Simon Bolivar B: Laaldja Mahamdi, Jean Marie Bryant and Veronique Fontaine.
    • CEIP san Jacinto:  Mónica Poyato Roldán, Cristina Fernández García, Mª Carmen Maldonado Morales.

     

    The topics discussed were:

    1. Attention to diversity in San Jacinto.

    San Jacinto school staff explained the center's attention to diversity system. The school’s psychologist commented on the functions and programs that are being carried out in the school by the Educational Guidance Team of the area. The professor of Therapeutic Pedagogy detailed the work she develops daily with the students of special educational needs.

    1. Attention to diversity in St. Austin.

    The manager of attention to diversity in San Austin (Liverpool), Colette Hickey, exposed the procedures and actions that are carried out in her center to attend students who present difficulties in the learning process.

    We compared the systems that each center has established to help the students who require it, focusing mainly on the differences between our strategies and on how to implement them.

    1. The role of digital technologies in our schools.

    The coordinator of the project from San Jacinto informed and showed the ICT facilities of the center in the visits to the classrooms of the school. She indicated that an explanatory presentation had been prepared with regard to this topic that would be passed on to the partners for them to have further information.

    1. Review the ongoing activities.
    • Preparation and interpretation of Beatles´songs:  final list, levels and deadline.

    The final list of songs by the Beatles was given to each center to work with the students of each level. It was specified that the deadline for sending the recordings will be on April 30, 2018. They must be sent to Jonathan, so that he can produce a DVD. The formats for the recording should be: mp4, mov, mkv for videos to have a proper quality.

    At the next meeting, to be held in May, the activity must be completed.

    For the DVD cover it was indicated that each center would present its proposal. From among them, the definitive one would be chosen.

    • Preparation of traditional dances.

    The final delivery date was set on June 30 so that Jonathan can produce the corresponding DVD. Each center will provide 6 minutes of recording about their own dances and will accompany it with an explanatory text.

    • Exchange of correspondence.

    Student correspondences were exchanged and it was agreed to make a quadrant of this activity among the partners using Google docs.

    • Answer the questions from one school to another one:

    It was commented that the process should continue and that all questions and answers should be collected on the project website. It was indicated that the action could be facilitated by the use of the online platform: meeting words.

    • Centenary of the 1st World War:

    The deadline for this activity was set on December 2018. Each center will share its own work via de project’s website.

    1. The website for the project

    The representative from Liverpool, Colette Hickey, explained the composition of the website of the project, how to use it and suggested to the rest of the partners to complete the data related to each center. She indicated that it could be extended by creating additional tabs.

    The legal use of images on the project's website was confirmed.

    1. Etwinning space

    The coordinator from Salva (Romania), Vasilica Gazdac, explained the need of using the E-twinning platform for our project. She commented that our email would be registered in all of our published posts, proving our work on the project. She explained that things could be added in each of the sections and specified that the "E-twinning label" is a quality certificate and that "Live" closely resembles Skype..

    1. School Newspaper

    The proposal of making a digital newspaper was discussed. The colleagues from Salva (Romania) made clear that they were in favor but that they would do it on paper, given that their National Agency required it. In this regard it was specified:

    • Annual Periodicity
    • To specify its format, "Calameo" would be used.
    • Each country would have two pages at which they would work on 2 or 3 specific topics related to the project, different from those treated by the rest of the partners.
    • In Liverpool (May) the format will be specified, as well as the topics to be treated by each partner for the first newspaper. The date of publication of the newspaper’s first issue is yet to be set.
    1. Dissemination activities

    The coordinator from Salva (Romania) reported the importance of this action within the project. Projection:

    • The importance of publishing the activities carried out by each center.
    • The way to do it: clear list of everything that has been done.
    • The use of logos that should appear in all documents.
    • The use of social networks such as Facebook or Twitter.

    As an example, he presented an Excel page with a list of links on activities of this type.

    1. English taught in St. Jacinto.

    The coordinator of CEIP San Jacinto exposed their teaching methods for the first foreign language (English). She highlighted that the center develops the bilingual program of their community and also, she put digitized examples of the work that is done at school.

    1. Implementation of a cultural and historical brochure of our city.

    The project coordinator, Maurice Ould Abdesslam proposed a new activity, the development of a guide / brochure of our centers and our cities. He remembered:

    • Make a simple brochure where you can find information about the centers and monuments closest to the schools with 50% text and 50% images.
    • Completion date: meeting in Liverpool (May).
    • Each center will carry 20 paper brochures to exchange.
    1. “School invasion”  and “Fables”Projects.

    Two professors, Cecile Lassalle and Frank Jungo, from Simon Bolivar School A, made a presentation of the project they were carrying out "School invasion". After the exhibition it was concluded that it could be carried out as a common action within the Erasmus + KA2 B.L.E.N.D project next year.

    Two professors, Jean Marie Bryant and Veronique Fontaine, from the Simon Bolivar B center presented a project about the fables of La Fontaine indicating that the whole center is working on fables. They presented a video of several interventions in the classrooms.

    1. Teaching interest of the Project

    The project coordinator expressed the need to involve the teachers of the centers in the project.

    1. Contents for next short training event in Liverpool.

    In this regard it was indicated that, like in Seville’s meeting, it will be a short-term staff joint training event. The following issues were decided to be treated.

    • Review / conclusion of actions developed.
    • The evaluation.
    • Develop the form of evaluation of the project. Questionnaires were suggested for families, students and teachers to complete them.
    • Process: initial, mid-term and final evaluation.
    • Types of questionnaires: each country will present its proposals in Liverpool. It was specified that with digital format for teachers and on paper for students and families.
    • Language to use: English.
    • The teaching of English in the classroom.
    • Mobility of the students:  Salva(Romania) coordinator informs that it is not allowed in Romania.
    • Dates for the next mobilities of teachers in the project.
    • Contents for the next meeting in Catania (Italy).
