  • About the project.

    The project is about sharing traditional games of each partner’s countries.

    Students of every school will create a data collection of games.

    They will share them with their partners ,giving information ,learning rhymes, songs  and performing them. As a second step they will try to play games from other countries.

    These games could be played in the classroom but also out of it it (park, street,square..).

     This cooperative project gives many chances for Outdoor Learning , building bridges of friendship and respect among children .

    Traditional games unite children ,generations ,people and nations.

    As a part of our heritage and a symbol of the cultural diversity of our societies, they are vehicles for transferring values of solidarity, diversity, inclusiveness and cultural awareness Living in a tech-driven world ,changing rapidly, we are going to motivate the students to reap the benefit of the traditional games.

    AIMS

    The aim of the project is to produce and form a digital archive of traditional  games from a number of countries that all the children can play and share with their friends in their schools and beyond it.They will also share them with students in other countries.

    In this way, students will learn about culture and traditions through rhymes, songs and playground activities.Outdoor learning will come true.

    Students will acquire knowledge about another European culture through playing the other culture's traditional games .

     They will build their confidence and self-esteem and they will develop social skills

    This project will connect generations and strengthen familiy bonds
    They will learn to work collaboratively, to obey the rules ,to respect each other and have discipline.
    They can also use new technologies to communicate.

     

    WORK PROCESS

    -10/11 Presentation of  our project team, our schools, countries.

    15/11-25/12 Partners produce an archieve of their traditional games .They describe their rules and they are playing . The pupils will interview parents and grandparents, they will write down the games' rules

    January- April :every partner will choose one –two of the traditional children games  

    Of another country and try to play it .

    May: Students will teach their own traditional  games and other countries’games to their mates .

    Differences according to the ages will be noticed and we can adopt the rules to them.

    Evaluation of the project.

    We inform the school community and the local society  (newspapers, websites..) about our project

     

     


    EXPECTED RESULTS

    School societies will be informed about the project outcomes on the notice board , on the school blog and on the school newspaper

    There will be a Twinspace where the whole process will be presented.

    A webpage of the project will make available the materials to everyone.

    The students will improve language and ICT skills

    Outdoor learning will benefit both students and teacher.

    The first ones will strengthen their  self confidence and their sense of responsibility bybeing a member of a team and the second ones will discover new teaching methods by sharing teaching experiences .

    Preparing an e-book about traditional games and common sharing materials (multicultural anthology of the children's games ).
