On Tuesday we had a meeting with a lady who talked about the meaning of sustainability in agricultural projects: What is important to make sure that the project helps the locals?
When we arrived at the meeting room, we started by playing some concentration-focused games. After that she presented an old project called „Corambiente in Columbia“. After her presentation we went into groups and every group got a special task. We played the roles of the people connected to the project: the farmers, the judges who had to decide on the project, and some supporters who helped with some arguments.
Group 1: The problems: (safe money for the farmers, sustainability of the project, production of food)
Group 2: Good things: advantages for the farmers
Group 3: Witnesses: (Consumers explain the project and talk about their problems)
Group 4: Judges: (They had to decide if they want to support the project with money)
Then every group presented their results in a little role play.
After the group presentations we talked about sustainability and the lady showed us a picture that showed us what is important for sustainability. After that, there was some time left to ask some questions.
Then the meeting ended and we had a short break and some free time before we went back to the train station.

S´ Altra Senalla Mallorca is a small organisation that promotes fair trade in schools and other places. Their shop sells handcraft and fair trade products from small producers. They don’t want a competition between the farmers , they want that the farmers work together. In the presentation they told us about the objectives and the criterions of fair trade.
Objectives:
-That the farmers gain better living and working conditions
-To support the local farmers
-Better quality of products
Criterion:
-No child labor
-No pesticides
-No GMO
After the presentation we were guided through the building and the lady told us about its history as a home for orphans and poor people.

All of students went by train to Palma, the biggest city on Mallorca island. We were divided for two groups. First group went to Fons Mallorquí per a la solidariat. This is organization with experience for more than ten years supporting local Development Processes and institutional strengthening, with participation of municipalities in Mallorca and South. It is believed that the municipalities municipal cooperation is an essential tool to fight against poverty and for sustainable development at a global level. Students analize one of the projects that this organization made. We wrote pros and cons and what can be changed. This activity has taught us that we should always take into account any factors. Group II went to Finestra al sud Comerc, where they have similar classes. After classes we went to school.
