Our project

  • a. Short description:

    The project is aimed at cultural orientation and language development.

    Students are expected to exchange letters and presentations on various topics that are close to their everyday living

     

    b. Aims:

    1. To make students aware of cultural similarities and differences.

    2. To make students sensitive to people of different origins.

    3. To make students eager to broaden their horizons.

    4. To motivate students to learn English for communication purposes

    5. To make learning English more fun and effective

    6. To develop linguistic and ICT skills.

    7. To develop students’ communication and social skills

    8. To promote co-operation between schools

     

    c. CURRICULAR AREAS INVOLVED:

    Cross Curricular, Design and Technology, Drama, Foreign Languages, Informatics / ICT

     

    d. WORK PROCESS:

    OCTOBER

    • Introducing project to the students, inviting students to Twinspace.

    • Preparing presentations on the first topic - All about me - padlet, video presentations, voki etc

    NOVEMBER

    • Writing and sending the first letters - All about me (Poland-Greece / Spain -Turkey)

    • Skype meeting

    DECEMBER

    • Exchanging Christmas / New Year cards - all partners. Each partner can prepare 3 big Christmas / New Year card and send them to all partners (one each)

    JANUARY

    • Preparing presentations on the second topic Festivals, students can describe how they spent their Christmas holidays or choose different favourite festival.

    FEBRUARY

    • Skype meeting

    • Writing and sending the second letter - topic My school. (Poland-Spain / Greece - Turkey)

    MARCH

    • Preparing presentations on the third topic - My school

    • Skype meeting

    APRIL

    • Writing and sending the third letter - topic My town ( Poland - Turkey / Spain - Greece)

    • Preparing presentations on the fourth topic - My town

    MAY

    • Skype meeting

    • Collect and publish all the letters in an e-book (eg. on issuu)

    • Evaluation

     

    e. WEB TOOLS:

    Padlet, Skype, Google drive, zeemaps, issuu, animoto, slidely, smilebox, wordart, (video and audio tools),

     

    f. EXPECTED RESULTS:

    The students will learn more about other cultures. They will learn to respect people of differents origins and they will become tolerant of global diversity. They will be motivated to learn English for communication purposes. They will improve their language fluency, their ICT and social skills. They will learn to collaborate with others.
