The German school participating in Comenius projects since 1996 is the Gymnasium Ulricianum Aurich. 2017 the school successfully applied for this Erasmus+ project together with its partners from Norway, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic.
Some basic information about the school:
The Gymnasium Ulricianum Aurich was founded in 1646. The school has about 1800 students in grades 5 – 12 and about 150 teachers, additionally the school has about 15 teacher trainees.
The following subjects are offered: History, Geography, Politics, Religion, Ethics, Music, Art, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Information Science, German, English, French, Latin, Greek, Spanish
Students may choose to study foreign language according to the language curriculum:

- English: 1st foreign language starting in the 5th grade
- French, Spanish or Latin: 2nd foreign language starting in the 6th grade
- 3rd elective-language possible starting in the 7th grade: French, Latin, Spanish and Greek
- Spanish starting in the 10th grade; with sufficient demand Latin und French starting in the 10th grade may also be offered
- Italian, French and Hebrew are offered as extra-curriculars.
In addition to language courses, Bilingual Classes (in English) are offered in History, Geography, and Politics starting in the 7th grade.
