Cultural identity is a debate and history based project for students with special needs between the age of 12 to 18 years that will explore various aspects of the definition of who are we/who am I.
Based on both current media topics and historical aspects on the development of globalization, the teachers will select five topics that will be the starting point for examination, analysis and debate. Afterwards the class will then contextualixze the subject in a digital presentation.
Findings will be presented in an online or printed magazine. The project will begin in august 2017 and end in December 2017/January 2018 with the classes meeting and talking about cultural awareness with a groupe of educated Cultural Ambassadors. The Cultural Ambassadors is a group of young students within the ages of 18-30 who have a multicultural bagground.
The participating students in this project will all have learning disabilities and will not be able to collaborate with students from a regular school.
To make the learningprocess visible for the students there will be a quiz before and after each topic, this will show the archived learning.
When corresponding with the partner school the communication and collaborating will be by Twinspace. As this is a project involving students with special needs there will be students participating with almost no written skills the communication between the students will therefore also involve photos, video etc.
