The first Workgroup-Meeting in Celje in April 2015 was focused on the work being done so far within the different schools. The main goals of this meeting were to present the work in detail, to discuss open questions and to define the further proceeding and work steps.

One of the main topics was to define the further time table in detail, to specify the interactions points in each group and to detail the different working parts in a way that makes it much more easier to co-ordinate and integrate the different work.

During the first day in Celje, all guests had a strong impression on the warm and friendly welcome of the Slovenian hosts. Each school presented short media clips of their region and culture. The intonation of the Slovenian anthem had a deep impression on all guests. The day ended with an intercultural event with grilling, a very nice walk around a nearby lake and al lot of other common activities and talks. By this, surrounded by the lovely landscape nearby Celje, friendship has been deepened.

Students worked in changing order in mixed groups on several stations set up for automation, mechanical construction and electro-pneumatics over the week.

On Tuesday all student were divided in 3 groups and worked in the morning and in the afternoon on three workshops. Every workshop has the same schedule: First the Slovenian teachers and students explained their tools and work, then all other students explained their work done so far in detail to other students in small groups.

Construction: The Slovenian work is based on construction with the program “Solid Works”. The students discussed and tried to identify the possibilities to exchange the different approaches among each other. Export data formats and general construction strategies were the main topics.

Automation: In the automation workshop the students together with the teachers worked on a small automated robot, which can transport a black box from place A to place B.

Installation: In this workshop there were several small tasks where the students from Austria, Germany and Romania were supposed to solve these tasks.

In the afternoon all teachers had a meeting where the further timetable and general questions of interaction and practical interchange of results and upcoming questions were discussed.

In the evening the whole group went to a Go-Kart driving event, where students and teachers raised a match with qualifying and afterwards a final competition in order to choose the champion of Go-Kart driving.

Wednesday was dedicated for cultural purposes. All students and teachers drove to the old spa city Laško and attended on a visit at the brewery Laško with a beer-tasting followed up.

 

Back in Celje the whole group enjoyed a guided tour at the old castle upon Celje with a lovely view over the city of Celje. The guided tour has been extended within the old city center.

In the north of Celje is a beautiful place located with an artificial lake originally dedicated for flood protection meanwhile frequently used as a place for recovering. The whole group participated on a boat-tour on this lake called “Šmartinsko”.

In the evening we had an invitation to a wonderful and impressive concert which was performed by the school chorus of school center celje.

On Thursday the students changed the groups from Tuesday and went to one of the workshops they have not attended yet. By this all students had the opportunity to exchange their knowledge on all themes. In the afternoon the students starts with a summary report of the work they did.
Meanwhile all teachers met again in order to conclude their task and timetable work for the further project. As a result every working group has a more detailed task plan and time table as before.

 

 

In the evening all were again invited for a group event at a Bowling-Center located nearby the hotel.

The students of the four nations were divided in groups of five people and spent a very nice time there.

 

 

 

The last day started with the presentation of the results summarized by the students.

The meeting then finished after a week of impressing friendship and effective co-operation among students and teachers.
