Project's schedule

  • In this project every team explores different aspect of comets. Pupils make research and exercises in their language and after each Task prepare a product in English (presenattion, video, image). 

    Presetation of schools.

    Each school prepares a Twinspace Page about the institution and the project members.

    Phase 1: Scientific tasks. 31th May - 6 June

    The Polish group.

    Wednesday. Scientific Task 1: The meeting with a scientist - Mr. Ryszard Gabryszewski from The Space Research Center.

    • "Dangerous planetoids" - lecture and discussion
    • Product: a list of topics interesting for the pupils and of questions to be answered during this phase of the project.

    Thursday. Scientific Task 2: The Solar System, Kepler's Laws, orbits. 

    • Wroking process: students make 3 exercises
    • Product: Formative interactive assessment with every student's answers.

    Friday. Scientific Task 3: Visiting comets. 

    • Working process: pupils watch "The adventures of Rosetta and Philae" and make interactive exercises about the structure of comets. They discuss about the purpose of research.
    • Product: Mind map about comets.

    Saturday. Scientific Task 4: DIY Comet simulation 

    • Working process: students do exercises about the journey of comets around the Sun
    • Product: stop-motion animations about the journey of chosen (or imaginary) comets around the Sun

    Sunday. Scientific Task 5: Comets' obsevations.

    • working process: each student chooses one comet and makes a research about when and where it was seen from the Earth
    • Product: a table with dates of comets' observations.

    Monday: Scientific Task 6: The group's meeting.

    • Working process: discussion
    • Product: aswers for the questions asked in Task 1.

    Tuesday. Scientific Task 7: Conclusion of the week.

    • working Process: presenting all the products to Mr. Gabryszewski via Twinspace
    • Product: evaluation by the scientist, presetation of all the results

    Phase 2: Comets in history. 20. - 25. July

    The German group.

    Access: - Studying and discussing the Astronomy group's results

    Historical Task 1: - Researching historical sources (ancient, medieval, modern) relating and

                                     concerning to observed comets

                                   > Recording the results

    Historical Task 2: - Analysing the sources referring to a certain perception that is connected with

                                     comets

                                    - a special attention will be directed to the superstitious component that was/is

                                      connected with comets

                                    > Stucturing the results referring time and perception

     

    Final: - Realize and implement a digital presentation of the contemplation

     

    Students from both schools watch their work's products and share comments.
