NEWS FROM FINNISH SCHOOL

  • The Finnish team started with Ulla-Maria Åstrand in autumn 2016. The Headmaster Sari Rundgren-Nurkkala and Ulla-Amria attended the first meeting in Spain, Torrejón de Ardoz, in October 2016.

Trip to Poland took place in March 2017. Seven students participated with Ulla-Maria and another teacher, Tommi Syrjälä.

Summer 2017 changed the team, when the coordinator, Ulla-Maria applied for another job, as a headmaster of a neighbouring school. She had to leave the project and a new coordinator was needed. Merja Pikkarainen, who had been off from work for the semester, when the project started, started as a coordinator in September 2017. Merja is a special education teacher, providing support for students with problems with learning.

In October 2017 Merja, with a new teacher in our school, Tuomas Sulander, made a trip to Spain, to Collegio Jaby, in Torrejón de Ardoz. They had five students along, paricipating the project.

In March 2018, the teams in the project visited Finland. We hosted 10 students from Spain, four students from Poland and 12 taechers, three of whom from Spain, four from Poland, two from Turkey and three from Ireland.
