The Ave María-San Cristóbal Teaching Center was founded in 1926 thanks to the efforts of Don Pedro Manjón Lastra, nephew of Don Andrés. This one, carries out the works of restoration of the deteriorated temple of San Cristóbal thanks to the donations of numerous benefactors. Counting on the cession of the temple and of a terrain annexed to it by the archbishopric of Granada, the works begin. In 1926 the temple of San Cristóbal reopens, along with some educational dependencies and an annexed house that coincided with the present building of Infantile Education.

At the beginning, only one Day School for children and one night school for adults were installed in San Cristóbal. In 1927 the educational complex of San Cristóbal consisted of the temple, three classrooms, patio and a house for the chaplain. In September 1929, new units were inaugurated for girls in the neighborhood. In the 1933-1934 academic year, there were six very crowded classrooms in San Cristóbal. As for the Vocational Training center, it will start teaching regulated courses in its current location in the 1960-1961 academic year. However, professional training has been a constant concern in Ave Maria since its founding in the 19th century. After an unsuccessful attempt by D. Andrés Manjón himself in 1905 to create the first vocational training school in Granada, it will be necessary to wait until 1954 for the then General Director of the Board, Mr. José Jiménez Fajardo, to start up a series of workshops to start in various trades - masonry, carpentry, electricity, ... - to young people in the area. It begins with 52 children and 59 girls in the Casa Madre facilities on the slope of Chapiz.Subsequently, an ideal site is sought -between the Nazari wall, Murcia road and the Alberzana garden-, the project is carried out and the construction works are carried out. Classes will begin in their current and final location in October 1960.
