Our project is starting, so this is a page listing ideas for activities that will be carried out during September:
1. VIDEO ACTIVITY 1
Each country makes a video with country and school introduction - the aim is to represent school and pupils involved in the project - use English and mother tongue
2. POSTER
Create a poster containing national flag, name of the country, basic information, etc. in English and mother tongue. Photograph the poster and upload it to twinspace. Alternativelly, you can also make a PPT presentation.
3. VIDEO ACTIVITY 2
Make a video of children singing a well-known international song in their mother tongue (or a translated English song - like Old McDonald had a farm...)
4. SURVEY
Create a survey in our school, or broader, make a questionaire and ask people, family, friends, some general questions about languages, eg how many languages they speak, what is their favourite word in english, etc. And make a presentation with results.
5. POSTER ACTIVITY 2
choose a word like friendship, or love, world... And translate into all european languages anf make a poster...
6. WORDS WORDS
Find similar words in two different languages, or words which are writen the same_, but mean somwthing different (slovak: motorka - vehicle on two wheels, in Croatian motorka is a tool for sawing wood)
7. SPELLING BEE
Organize a spelling competition and photograph the highlights, then upload it to twinspace
Other ideas are welcome, and will be listed here. The idea is to choose 2-3 activities and then send in the results.
When you finish (by the end of September), we will organize materials and upload it to twinspace.
