The ancestor of Polish people

  • Piast Kolodziej (also known as hubs Ploughman) was great- great…grandfather    of the historic first Polish rulers. Piast lived with his family in a poor chałupce hut  in Gniezno below the castle. According to other legends same Piast came from the village Noć (Konin County, municipality Wierzbinek). Bright future son Hub was told by two unknown wanderers for  hospitality. They  took place in the home when there was the  ceremony of birthday  of the Piast’s  7-year-old son. Piast willingly invited strangers to the table and asked for their blessing and naming the boy. The two wanderers gave him the name Siemowit and predicted a great future for him. Thanking for hospitality they once again bless the boy, and all of the guests, then left  to continue  further journey. When  Piast’s wife – Rzepicha went to the pantry, she noticed that stocks diminished. Everyone thought it was a good omen.In the near future Siemowit, took power in the country after the cruel duke Popiel, which was eaten by  the mice. Descendants  of Siemowit ruled (with a break), the Polish state to the death of Casimir the Great - November 5, 1370
