SHORT-TERM TRAINING EVENT IN LITHUANIA

  • The focus of the short-term training event in Lithuania was on access to education of disabled children in the Lithuanian educational system in practice, also Lithuanian preschool curriculum including "Morning Cycle" and "Work with light tables" workshops.

    Teachers from partner schools from Turkey, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Poland  observed the “Morning Cycle“ activities and the activities with light tables, had training how to work with light tables using different materials at the host school. The participants visited a nursery-kindergarten „Želmenėlis“ in Kaunas and observed activities there. The teachers participated in the educational activities “Formation of Positive Image of People with Disabilities in the Community“ in the  faculty of Health Care of Šiauliai State College and “Secrets of Plastic Ceramics“ in the Kelmė District Museum. The partners visited the Kelmė Special School and the Šiauliai Special Education Centre where SEN and disabled children have been educated; they had also opportunity to visit the Lioliai Day Care Centre and the Vijurkai Children Care Home. The guest students had opportunity to visit Kelmės „Kražantės“ progymnasium. The project poster was distributed to all partners by the Spanish partner and the project’s brochure was distributed by the host school. The partners presented the 1st year’s project activities carried out in their schools. During the extra-curriculum activities the project partners enhanced their knowledge about Lithuania, its culture, traditions and educational system.
