Croatia activities

  • In Primary School Strahoninec, we did the following activities with all the students:

    Day 1 Reduce and Recycle:

Students in the lower grades created toys, animals and decorations out of cardboard, plastic and containers they had at home.

    Day 2 Planting

Students of the lower and upper classes participated in planting seeds and seedlings, both in school and at home. Many parents helped.

    Day 3 Healthy Food

The 1.b class and their teacher Mrs Jadranka Škvorc marked Healthy Day by preparing healthy snacks in class and at home. There were fruit salads, smoothie drinks, nuts and beautifully arranged dishes.

2.a. class with teacher Adriana Delonga Klasnić tried creating new and amazing smoothie drinks, a healthy drink made from fruits, vegetables - bananas, forest fruits, spinach and celery. They found that fruits and vegetables love each other!

Students of the 5th grade and their teacher Mrs Vesna Mikulić contributed to Sustainable Week through a joint activity in the class called Healthy Day. The students accepted the challenge and consumed only healthy foods that day. In class class, they had a conversation and a presentation on the topic Of Healthy Food. The students brought fruit to class, which they turned into a fruit salad with which they treated themselves to healthy dry snacks.

The Student Council and pedagogist Ms Monika Zorčec joined the celebration of the Sustainable Week in our school. In the introduction, the students talked about the benefits of healthy food, shared interesting recipes with each other, talked about orchards and vegetable gardens and homemade foods that the family grows. Today's honor is also given to the "rhyme tune" which the students themselves designed and turned into a colorful poster. The cheerful environment was accompanied by the beats of children's songs about healthy food, so there was no lack of stimulating and fun atmosphere.

    Day 4 Green Travel

Today in our school everyone used green transport to arrive to school if possible, and have a nice walk with their friends and families after school. Here are some of the photos and videos:

During Thursday, the students of the 5th grade with the class teacher Anja Purić made an effort to use green transport. On Thursday, students used various applications to measure their physical activity, ie the number of steps taken during the day. At the Class Hour, we made an order and the three best were awarded with a healthier version of sweets. :)

Our students regularly arrive to school by bikes, which is why having bike posts is very important to us:

    Day 5 Donations

2.b grade students joined the action of collecting food. In cooperation with the Religion teacher Marija Meštrić, they responded to the action to participate in the physical work of charity - feed the hungry, together with their families during Lent. Following the example of St. Francis and we renounce and donate at least one permanent food to the poorest in our diocese. Groceries were collected in the school hall. All groceries will be taken to the Social Self-Service Bread of St. Antuna in Varaždin, where volunteers will donate food to those most in need for the Easter holiday. Congratulations to students 2.b and teachers who are happy to do good deeds and help people around them.

Classes 2.a and 1.b also gathered resources for the hungry and donated them to the Social Service.
