IES Costa del Sol

 

 

Our school is located in Torremolinos, in the south of Spain. Sustainable Tourism is the main activity of the area.. IES Costa del Sol  is attended  by students from 28 different nationalities. This cultural diversity has always worked as an asset for the acquisition of long life learning skills, turning our school into a unique multicultural centre.  

IES Costa del Sol has approximately 400 students ages ranging from 12 to 17.

Our school focuses on two different options: science: biology, physics and chemistry, high level maths and technology, and a social science option: history, Latin and arts. Both options work on foreign languages English and French up to level B1 in European Framework of Reference for Languages, citizenship, cultural awareness and teamwork. Entrepreneurship, use of information and communication technologies as well as team work are specific objectives of our school.

We have been awarded with several Official Institutional distinctions on "Positive Communal Living and Team Building" for our work on Programme “Schools, Places of Peace” by the Junta de Andalucía. We have also taken part in Regional Quality Programme 2008- 2016.

 

IES Costa del Sol runs a non- profit organization, since 2005. It´s Called " ONG Educando en Valores", http://www.educandoenvalores.org/   It promotes values of young people, including those with fewer opportunities, democratic life, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue.
