    About the project

    Our project concerns environmental awareness among young people. It will consist in implementing activities to help students become more eco-friendly like initiatives to recycle, rubbish collecting, taking measures to protect endangered species. Our main goal is to make students become more active and creative in the field of environmental action and trigger project-based activities in class.
    It is a project created by a French and Turkish school, implemented in English over a few weeks during the course of one school year,it follows a previous project led with several schools that was closed in 2019, « Eco-friendly citizens » and which allowed both the French and Turkish school to create active collaboration and friendship among teachers.

     

    AIMS

    Students will develop project-based skills in the field of environmental action :
    -They will learn to make convincing speeches in English for their peers
    -They will learn to create innovative projects in team work and develop project-based initiatives
    -They will learn to use digital tools such as android photo editors and collaborative platforms such as google doc and form to work in international groups
    -They will become familiar with etwinning as a collaborative platform

    The teachers will aim at making students become more autonomous in environmentally-friendly projects creation and management all through this project.

    As for the teachers involved, they will develop linguistic skills in English and become familiar with innovative teaching methods thanks to Etwinning and digital tools. Each school involved will endeavour to make Etwinning familiar to new teachers who have not used it before.

     

    WORK PROCESS

    The project will take place over several weeks during one school year. Exchanges between partners will be done on a regular basis (once a month) and in English.
    The different schools will share some of the following tasks:
    -Creation of course materials on the theme of eco-citizenship in English.
    Each partner will have to:
    -Create student accounts on the TwinSpace
    -Exchange emails regularly with other partners and practise English as a language of communication
    -Exhibit the work developed at least once in the school year.
    Each establishment will include a minimum of 1 class in the project and at least one collaborative initiative made by all partners to raise awareness about environmental problems will be presented during the year in the form of a video.

     

    SCHEDULE

    The activities will consist mainly in:

    - Creating and voting for a logo

    - Listing environmental problems we are facing in our different regions and doing researches about them

    - Working in international teams to sort out solutions and projects to help solve these environmental issues

    - Schools will put into place actions to raise awareness about environmental issues (exhibitions to raise awareness, recycling, rubbish collecting, visits when possible, etc)

    Of course any activity about the environment can be added

    The skills developped:

    -project-based skills: working in international teams

    -IT skills: using innovative methods to work in class and in international teams

    -Language skills: practising English to work with international partners

    -Cultural skills: learning about other cultures and regions

    EXPECTeD RESULTS

    We will set up a public Twinspace to communicate the results of the activities.
    The link to the platform will be placed on the site of each establishment.
    All activities will be done in English and will therefore allow us to improve the language skills of the students and teachers involved in the project in this language.
    This project will lead to the creation of a video in English made collaboratively by all partners involved.
