1. Presentation of our project

    This project will involve teenagers from two European countries: France and Ireland. Students will get to know each other virtually through Internet tools and finally in person while visiting each other in both countries.

    During the project we will concentrate on topics related to educational systems and everyday school life of the teenagers in both countries. We will also learn about the culture, traditions and customs in France and Ireland.

     

    AIMS

    • exchange of information about every day school and after school life between teenagers in both countries,

    • presentation of educational system of each participating country,

    • mastering use of English and French languages

    • practicing group work – working together towards the set objectives

    • mastering use of the Internet and all the computer related tools

    • learning how to search for information in different resources,

    • starting new friendships via Internet tools,

    • getting to know each other personally by spending two weeks together: one week in France this school year, one week in Ireland in 2016/2017.

     

    WORKING PROCEDURE

    OCTOBER 2015

    • The participants of the project write each other postcards of their cities to introduce their place.

    NOVEMBER 2015

    • In a personal letter, they make presentations about themselves through a game with photos.

    DECEMBER 2015

    • The French students choose their penfriends.

    • The students create handmade Christmas cards for each of their penfriends and we gather some presents to send to the partner school.

    From JANUARY to JUNE 2016

    • The groups create brochures with some interesting information about the place / city where they live.

    • The groups of participants prepare films and presentations about their school. They describe the buildings, classrooms and the timetable. They give an overview of the education and schooling system in their country.

    • The Irish students and the French students prepare the Irish partner’s trip to France.

    • Students communicate with their e-twinning friends via Skype.

    MARCH 2016

    • Irish students visit their e-twinning partners in France. They meet their host family, look over the French school, and visit tourist attractions together.

    • The French students prepare a presentation of Saint Patrick’s Day together with their penfriends. They will present it to the French school (with a reward contest).

    • The participants prepare a presentation about the e-twinning partner and the trip. They introduce it to the students of their school.

     

    EXPECTED RESULTS

    Posting films, brochures, presentations and photo albums on the TwinSpace. Getting to know each other personally by spending two weeks together.
