Curriculum integration - transferability

  • In this section some schools have collected materials that show HOW the etwinning activities have been implemented and INTEGRATED into the GEOGRAPHY curriculum  and HOW the content has been developed through English by following the principles of the CLIL approach with students from 7 to 10 years old. These examples, together with the materials incuded in the planning and evaluation pages, can help other teachers to replicate the project within their classes.

    • Classes 5 from FROSSASCO and ROLETTO primary schools- ITALY.

The etwinning project has been included into the Geography curriculum related to LANDFORMS. Students have started by discovering lanfdorms in the world reproducing them in Dioramas and moved to mapping their own village through miming games, topography activities and drama. Each class has chosen a city to ne introduced to the partner schools (Torino and Venezia) and related CREATED activities have been developed and shared with the partner schools. You can read the whole planning below, see an extract of some of the materials used in class and watch a short video.

Presentations of the project activities to the parents at the end of the school year

ROMANIA - Class 3 (9 years old pupils) from Lorelay Primary School, Iasi

The project has been included into the CLIL Social Studies curriculum, where we used English and ICT tools to get to know better our city and to be able to present it to the others. We also included the theme in the Romanian class and, for a month, we talked about important writers or cultural events that changed the history of the town, we made individual or cooperative projects about our city, we used Arts, Computer, History or Geography simple notions.  It was a cross-curricular aproach, witch impoved very much the general knowledge of our children, together with English notions and ICT tools, all very apreciated by our pupils

We started with a trip in town, followed by little projects, which took to the final presentation.

Here is a short presentation with the important steps we followed in our project.
