Christmas during a pandemic

Due to the pandemic this christmas had a lot of changes. It was forbidden to have more than six people together, on 24th and 25th we could only circulate until 2 a.m. and the restaurants closed at 1 p.m. Consequently, my family and I decided to stay at home. It was a different experience and I missed my grandparents and my cousins. However, I know it was the best decision and i hope that next christmas things will return to normal.

Christmas Holiday is the one when you eat a lot, when you feel the spirit of love, compassion and happiness, it is the time when the family gets together and when you see all the lights in the street.
However, this year it was a bit different. Although we still could eat a lot and watch the lights all over the city, we couldn’t be with our family and friends. In my case, to entertain myself, I finished the series that I had been watching, I continued reading my book, I also did some schoolwork and spent more time with my parents. It was a pretty ordinary holiday, but I enjoyed it despite the exceptional Covid-19 context.

The way we lived the Christmas season this year was different. We
couldn’t be with the whole family, but only with those who live with us.
These government decisions are important to keep the physical distance
for the good of everyone we love and the whole society in general.
Though this year people may be discouraged at Christmas, there is always
that magical spirit that leaves a great joy in the air. The pandemic made us
appreciate a lot of things that weren’t important in the previous years.
This year it was like that. Hope next year we will be allowed to meet all
the family and friends, bring everyone together and hug them.
