ODZ 12 "Radost"

  • “Radost” Kindergarten with a filial in Kraimorie is a social institution of public importance in pre-school education. Our kindergarten is one of the oldest pre-school education institutions in Burgas. Our city is located on the Black Sea coast and is the fourth largest city in Bulgaria. With its 74-year history, our kindergarten has established itself as an attractive and modern kindergarten, where all the conditions for developing the child's personality and quality pre-school education have been created in relation to European and national priorities.

"Radost" Kindergarten with a filial in Kraimorie seeks to build an innovative educational environment for access and equal opportunities for preschool education of all children. A team of 36 people takes care of 250 children. The kindergarten offers education for children from 2 to 7 years of age, divided into 8 groups, 2 of which in our filial in Kraimorie. Teachers and support staff are keen to change things for the better, create conditions that will build new personalities – free, moral and initiative, will lead good ideas and practices, will form beautiful relationships, encouragement will inspire security, children feel comfortable, loved and happy, understandable and meaningful, express their desires, make decisions, be able to "live with others" – to understand and respect them regardless of differences.

Today, under conditions of democracy and adherence to European values, "Radost" Kindergarten works in the direction of teachers' work to be more efficient, to constantly enrich the professional knowledge of teachers and its application in practice.

Our kindergarten has a rich experience in working under national and international projects, which activities are successfully incorporated in the curriculum so that to meet the children’s needs and help them acquire basic skills and competences for life which they need for their personal development. We work with every child so he/she can feel special. Our children learn Bulgarian language and literature, English, mathematics, nature, music and physical education. We also have a lot of extracurricular activities – fine arts, art and design workshop, gymnastics, football, culinary class. We consider kindergarten is a wonderful time of exploration and activity. Kindergarten children are still interested in learning everything there is to know about the world. We know that and we use it in our work. Our children learn by exploring, testing, observing, and doing in order to excite and encourage children.

It is of the utmost importance to provide a responsive  environment that embraces difference, respects ability and achievement of all children, as well as the ability of everyone to feel and think, to understand the other's need. Therefore, working on various educational projects that provide opportunities for stimulating cooperation and mutual assistance, the right of every child to develop, learn and communicate with others is a priority for us. We believe that all children have an equal participation in the educational process to lay the right foundations for future personal development. We have a lot of experience in incorporating cooperation and empathy into our daily activities. We strive to build a ‘climate’ of empathy by incorporating the value of helping and being kind to others into our daily curriculum. We have been working under two Erasmus + projects on topic of inclusion of children from different vulnerable groups – incl. children with SEN, children at risk and gifted children, children with autism, children with speech disorders, children with behavioural problems and children with intelectual problems.

Our teachers do all the best to prepare the children to be ready for learning at primary and secondary school. Educational work is in line with state educational requirements for pre-school education and school preparation.

Our teachers have very good skills, acquired knowledge and experience in providing quality educational services to children incl. in terms of developing helping attitude and habits and teaching basic life-saving skills.

Using the method of play, we teach pre-school children basic life-saving skills and life-saving measures they can perform e.g. if caught in a fire; as well as what behaviour they should have in the event of a natural disaster.
