    Short-term joint staff training event

     

    The short-term joint staff training event will give the project teachers the chance to meet face to face and discuss in detail the methodology, structure and content of project local and international exchanges that will run throughout the project life cycle and experience practical activities. They will exchange a range of ideas, practice examples and create some significant support material to conceive lessons and activities based on engaging methods and tools. This meeting will build trust and development of high-quality awareness-raising activities on cultural heritage and diversity.

    Teachers will cooperate and contribute to implementation of planned activities in LTTA agenda; there will be constructive discussions on the options to design personalized learning strategies in which to include cultural heritage education and diversity and training sessions on project topics. The LTTA will result in concrete teaching and learning models for the target students. The good practice examples shaped on highly participatory approach, exchange of pedagogical experience are to be transferred and utilized in the schools’ curriculum.

     

    Project agenda:

    Day 1

    - welcome ceremony followed by headmaster and project coordinator speeches

    - school presentation session provided by students

    - tour of the school and facilities

    - presentation of the project agenda and the objectives

    - round table- the system of education in Poland

    - documentary visit to nearby cultural sights

    Day 2   

    - methodology plan to apply within the project presented by main coordinator

    - workshop: results of initial questionnaires applied in schools, comparative analyses

    - organizing the format of the eTwinning page

    - lesson observations in project target subjects prepared by the host school

    - workshop- common captivating strategies to teach cultural heritage and diversity topics

    Day 3

    - lesson observations in project subject-areas

    - online project products-discussing the format of the website and project diary

    - selection of project logo prepared by Italian partner

    - uploading documents on project eTwinning page

    - project calendar for the next period and details of C 2

    - evaluation of LTTA

    - certificates of attendance and closing ceremony

    The activities scheduled over the three days will not affect the regular timetable of the host school. The expected results are:

    -  enhanced group cohesion among participants

    - participants empowered with developed English communication skills

    - new pedagogical strategies, tools to apply in their activity

    -  improved project management skills

    - updated methodological skills on project topics

    - topic presentations

    - certificates of attendance

    -  detailed LTTA report

    In their free time, participants will go on sightseeing tours and guided visits to places relevant for the project topics.

     

    The joint-staff training event will positively impact participants and have various benefits for them. Through direct interaction with Polish culture, teachers will acquire new knowledge in areas of history, geography, forms of art, customs and traditional cuisine specific to the host country. There will be significant improvements in raising intercultural awareness and appreciation of similarities and differences between their own and the host country. Also, participants will be exposed to everyday life in school and outside it and thus gain an insight into the life of Polish students and teachers, into their specific learning environment, the methodological approaches, the educational system as a whole, their interests.  All participants are expected to improve their self-confidence, interpersonal skills. They will enhance their team work skills and the ability to express ideas, negotiate in a multicultural setting, become more confident in their ability to communicate and express themselves in English in different forms (speaking, listening, writing, reading) and use it as a means of communication for professional and personal purposes. At the same time, their international cooperation and teamwork skills will be enhanced due to the concept of the agenda and activities. The LTTA will provide opportunities for participants to practice and develop their pedagogical skills through exchange of ideas and practice examples, mastery of digital tools in a creative way.  The educational models and practices experienced in the Polish host school will be adapted and applied in their schools.

    This LTTA will connect teachers and members of management teams to develop a higher quality form of delivery and co-build new disciplinary knowledge, a sense of identity in European context, tolerance and respect for cultural diversity.

     

    C2 – Italy – March 2022

    Traditional stories and legends

    Short-term exchange of groups of pupils

     

    Participants in C2 will prepare a list of materials, activities, perform individual/group tasks which include research, selection of pieces of literature, discussions, material design. Host organization will prepare activities for guests: ice breakers, presentations, quizzes, practical activities, exhibitions, visits, drama show.

    Agenda activities will be integrated in the school timetable. For lesson observations there will be maximum 5 guests/lesson at the same time. The topic of the exchange will be conducted by a multidisciplinary team of literature, English, Art, Drama and ICT teachers.

     

    Day 1

    - Reading session-ss read selected stories and legends (1 story and 1 legend/country)

    - Group discussions, reflective questions (Is this legend/story similar to legends/stories in your country?)

    - Evaluation – using mobile apps/educational platforms to assess participants’ acquired knowledge

    - workshop: sketching the profile of a legendary/story character (ss choose a character, fill in a worksheet titled Legendary/Story character around Europe: hero/heroine, background, personal characteristics, famous deeds, opponent, initial situation, conflict, problem resolved, ending)

    Day 3

    - lesson observations-literature, English

    - workshop – visual representations of stories and legends (digital tools and drawings; activities will led by ICT and Art teachers)

    - video session-ss watch film versions of traditional stories/legends in their countries, follow-up discussions

    - drama time-ss prepare sketches which illustrate traditional stories/legends, including setting and costumes

    Day 4

    - exhibition- ss organize a school exhibition which retells the story and display materials prepared during the visual representation

    - ss fill in the LTTA journals

    - field visit: Glimpses into Italian cultural heritage-guided tours to nearby museums, sites 

    Day 5

    - workshop chaired by university specialist on traditional stories and legends

    - students and teachers upload materials on project eTwinning page, website

    - evaluation session of LTTA

    - certification and closing ceremony

     

    Ss and teachers are to develop a deeper global understanding and appreciation of cultural differences in the five partner countries while exploring the European cultures; will go on visits to places of historical and cultural interest organized during LTTA and after the daily timetable guided by their hosts.

    Tangible expected results: workshop materials, topic presentations to be included in booklet, drawings, materials in digital format, photos; students’ journals; certificates of attendance, quizzes, evaluation tools.

     

    Participants will exchange information and acquire knowledge, especially on the topic of exchange: traditional stories and legends in partner countries. The workshops, presentation sessions, practical activities, cultural visits will facilitate understanding of cultural similarities, differences at the level of partner countries. Attending activities organized in and outside host school, being accommodated in Italian families will undoubtedly lead to considerable gain and direct insight into Italian educational system, everyday life. 

    The exchange of information, ideas, materials will result in enhanced teamwork skills in international context. Self-confidence, English language communication, presentation skills will be improved through interaction activities. Ss will become more self-reliant to express their own views, agree and disagree with European peers. They will cooperate, learn from each other, use digital tools, creativity, artistic skills to achieve a common goal, feel appreciated and valued for their contribution to success of the project. Moreover, ss are to become more organized, adaptable to integrate into various working groups.

    Teachers are expected to improve their self-confidence, interpersonal, international teamwork, cooperation skills and the ability to express ideas in a multicultural setting. They will boost competence to communicate and express themselves in English for professional and personal purposes, implement, coordinate ss in international school exchange projects. The LTTA creates opportunities for teachers to develop innovative activities through exchange of ideas and practice examples in the fields of literature, foreign languages, ICT, Art, Drama, mastery of digital tools in a creative way and further apply in schools.

    This LTTA will connect teachers and ss to develop a higher quality form of delivery and co-build new disciplinary knowledge, a sense of identity in European context, tolerance and respect for cultural diversity.

     

     

    C3 – Greece – October 2021

    Traditional dances and music

    Short-term exchange of groups of pupils

     

    Participants in C3 will prepare a list of materials and activities prior to their participation. Students will perform individual/group tasks which include research, selection of pieces of music, traditional costumes, dances. Host organization will prepare activities for the guests: ice breakers, presentations, quizzes, practical activities, exhibitions, documentary visits, karaoke show.

    Activities on agenda will be integrated in school timetable. For lesson observation activities there will be maximum 5 guests/lesson at the same time. The topic of the exchange will be conducted by a multidisciplinary team of Music, English, Art and other teachers with experience in school projects on the topic.

     

    Day 1

    - presentation session (by all ss) - national dress ( materials, colours, symbols)

    - Group discussions, reflective questions

    - Evaluation – using mobile apps/educational platforms to assess participants’ acquired knowledge

    - audition and karaoke -traditional songs ( some talented ss will sing songs while others will play musical instruments)

    Day 3

    - lesson observations-Music, English

    - ”Europe is dancing in traditional tunes”-dance performance prepared by all students (select the most representative dances in their area/country and perform them wearing their national dress)

    - practical activity- ss teach other students in the host school, teachers, their European peers traditional dances

    - exhibition- ss organize an exhibition to display the national dress from partner countries for the whole school

    Day 4

    - workshop: inspired by the traditional songs, students compose the project anthem and translate it into all 6 languages

    - students fill in LTTA journals

    - field visit: Glimpses into Greek cultural heritage-guided tours to a nearby folk museum and historical sites 

    Day 5

    - workshop chaired by specialist on traditional songs and dances

    - students and teachers upload materials on project eTwinning page, website

    - evaluation session of LTTA

    Students and teachers are to develop a deeper global understanding and appreciation of cultural differences in the five partner countries while exploring the European cultures. They will go on visits to places of historical and cultural interest organized during LTTA and after the daily timetable guided by their hosts.

Attending activities organized in and outside host school, being accommodated in Greek families will undoubtedly lead to considerable gain and direct insight into Greek educational system, everyday life

    The exchange of information, ideas, materials will lead to enhanced teamwork skills in international context. Self-confidence, English language communication, presentation skills will be improved through interactive activities. Ss will become more self-reliant to express their own views, agree and disagree with European peers. They will cooperate, learn from each other, use digital tools, creativity, artistic skills to achieve a common goal, feel appreciated and valued for their contribution to success of the project. Moreover, students are to become more organized, adaptable to integrate into various working groups and engage to perform on stage.

    Teachers are expected to improve their self-confidence, interpersonal, international team work, cooperation skills and the ability to express ideas in a multicultural setting. They will boost ability to communicate and express themselves in English for professional and personal purposes, implement, coordinate ss in international school exchange projects. The LTTA creates opportunities for teachers to develop innovative activities through exchange of ideas and practice examples in the fields of Music, foreign languages, Art, mastery of digital tools in a creative way and further apply in schools.

    This LTTA will connect teachers and students to develop a higher quality form of delivery and co-build new disciplinary knowledge, a sense of identity in European context, tolerance and respect for cultural diversity.

     

     

     

    C4 – Romania – March 2022

    Traditional crafts and sports

    Short-term exchange of groups of pupils

     

    Participants in C4 will prepare a list of materials and activities prior to their participation. Students will perform individual/group tasks which include research, selection of traditional sports, games, handicrafts. Host organization will prepare activities for the guests: ice breakers, presentations, quizzes, practical activities, exhibitions, documentary visits, practical workshop, competition.

    Activities on agenda will be integrated in school timetable. For lesson observation activities there will be maximum 5 guests/lesson at the same time. The topic of the exchange will be conducted by a multidisciplinary team of P.E., English and other teachers with experience in school projects on the topic.

     

    Day 1

    - European craft fair-ss bring some traditional handicraft items and display them in the school

    Day 3

    - traditional sports and games presentation (ss  introduce traditional sports and games)

    - European sports and games competition: ”United through sport” (ss attend it in mixed teams)

    - famous sports people that we are proud of- ss prepare a biography of 2 famous sports people in their country

    Day 4

    - lesson observations-P.E., Design and Technology

    - students fill in LTTA journals

    - visit to a craft workshop/village in the area, hands-on activity

    - field visit: Glimpses into Romanian cultural heritage-guided tour to nearby museums and historical sites 

    Day 5

Self-confidence, English language communication, presentation skills will be improved through interaction activities. Ss will become more self-reliant to express own views, agree and disagree with European peers. They will cooperate, learn from each other, use digital tools, creativity, artistic skills to achieve a common goal, feel valued for contribution to success of the project. Moreover, students are to become more organized, adaptable to integrate into various working groups, gain social and emotional benefits while competing with foreign peers.

    Teachers are expected to improve their self-confidence, interpersonal, international team work, cooperation skills and the ability to express ideas in a multicultural setting. They will boost ability to communicate, express themselves in English for professional and personal purposes, implement, coordinate ss in international school exchange projects. The LTTA creates opportunities for teachers to develop innovative activities through exchange of ideas and practice examples in foreign languages, P.E., Design and technology and further apply them in schools.

    C5 – Turkey – May 2022

    Traditional historical sites and cuisine

    Short-term exchange of groups of pupils

     

    Participants in C5 will prepare a list of materials and activities prior to their participation. Students will perform individual/group tasks which include research, investigate about historical sites, selection of traditional recipes. Host organization will prepare activities for the guests: ice breakers, presentations, quizzes, practical activities, exhibitions, documentary visits.

    Activities on agenda will be integrated in school timetable. For lesson observation activities there will be maximum 5 guests/lesson at the same time. The topic of the exchange will be conducted by a multidisciplinary team of History, English and other teachers with experience on the topic.

     

    Day 1

    - field visit to traditional food/drinks producers in the area

    - workshop – ss use the presentations, google maps and create the project map of historical sites

    Day 4
