The project "Traces - Learning from past racism for a tolerant present and future" is a school partnership of Instituto dos Pupilos do Exéercito (PT), Zespól Szkól w Kiertrzu (PL), Istituto d'Istruzione Superiore Majorana (I) and Kaufmansschule II (D) about anti racism and tolerance within the framework of a European identity. The participating schools aim at the individual development of each student in the areas of knowledge, awareness, communication and behaviour. The intention is to increase pupils' knowledge about the history of discrimination by the state in the participating countries and their shared history. This leads to a new way of thinking about history and facilitates new ways of looking at history from different perspectives. The historical perspectie will raise pupils' awareness of the current challenges Europe faces but also of the importance of common democratic values and human rights.
