Na Orave dobre (It is good in Orava) - music by Patrik D.

    Lyrics:

It is good in Orava, it is healthy in Orava, but in Orava there are few handsome boys.

There are few handsome boys and they resist to be loved, but I am used to doing it till the morning.

I live in the upper end, and I have a boyfriend in the lower one. I go to the middle of the village to fetch water.

I don't fetch water to drink it, but I go there to see my boyfriend.

And this is a Christmas and New Year song, sung mostly around New Year's Eve - Radujte sa valasi (Rejoice, you shepherds) - music by Tatiana P. family, photo by Žofia D.

    Lyrics:

Rejoice you shepherds near Betlehem, that we all have survived in good health untill the last day of this year.

And we have lived till the new year, so, everybody get ready, we will go to Betlehem to welcome our Lord.

We will thank him for keeping us well, and in our life all the time, that we can be in his "chalet".

Give us, oh God, a plentiful year. Turn away plague, hunger and wars. Chase away the wolves from the "chalet", so that the sheep graze well.
