Rhythm is probably the most fundamental element of music. It is interconnected to movement, pulse and breathing. We normally physically feel a certain rhythm, rather than mentally understand it. In the context of the project "A World of Rhythms", schools will share rhythms originating from their countries' musical traditions. Students from all schools will learn and play these rhythmic patterns. At the end of the project, the rhythms will be recomposed to a new cross-cultural polyrhythm containing musical elements from different traditions.
