Students' preferences

  • Let's find out what the students want to do!

To have the students' voices heard we should ...

    • identify their interests & learning preferences
    • give them opportunities to express their interests & learning preferences

HOW can we identify their interests & learning preferences?

Initially, we observe how they respond to different learning methods.

Second, we also use a Mentimeter (see below) to find out

    • the students' topics of interest
    • the learning styles they prefer

Third, we discuss their answers in class and ask them to elaborate.

Orally in class, the students describe their ideas briefly to their classmates and ask the teacher questions such as "Can we be Master Chefs and cook at school?", "Can we use the WeDo 2.0 equipment we have in school?", "Can we play in the playground?"

    Instructions to students

Respond to two questions posed by the Mentimeter

The digit code is 12 21 81 2  and it expires on October 13th, 2020.

Question 1: What topics would you like the project activities to cover?

(Students could type answers like the following: plants, animals, snacks, stars, planets, cars, mechanisms, gadgets, video games, animation films, etc)

Question 2: How do you think you learn best?

(students could tick answers such as: by reading, by using my hands, by moving around, by listening, by keeping notes)

Presentation of students' answers to both questions

(feedback for teachers to use in designing project activities)
