    Here's a summary of our project:

    Description:Pupils of two Primary school in different country read "The Adventures of Pinocchio" in their mother tongue. Reflect on the needs, rights and duties of the puppet and make a comparison with the needs and the rights and duties of each child. Tracing the fairy tale, the pupils work together to represent iconographically and rewrite, in simple terms, the articles contained in the Convention On the Rights of the Child, then perform a calendar 2016. The masterpiece of Collodi, with its extraordinary wealth of content, accompany pupils throughout the school year and will also give an opportunity to know the typical Carnival masks starting from Mangia Fuoco’s puppets, finally organize a show in the mother tongue and English

    Aims: • Students learn to work together on an ICT-based project with their counterparts from abroad. • Teachers learn to integrate ICT-based projects in primary education. • Parents get involved preparing the show and exhibition.

    Work process

    PROCEDURE OF WORK Getting started: • Two school from two different countries read "The Adventures of Pinocchio" in their native language; • Reflect on the needs, rights and duties of the puppet and make a comparison with the needs and the rights and duties of each child. Information exchange and learning from each other: • Students of each school decide which articles of the children’s right want to illustrate; • The drawings, made by pupils of the two schools, are digitized using scanner and inserted into a PowerPoint presentation; • Each school uses the presentation slides to produce a 2016 calendar. Follow- up • Pinocchio with the puppet theater of Mangiafuoco helps children to discover and learn about the traditional Carnival masks of their own country; • The masks are photographed, then the classes exchange and print them. Arrange an exhibition at school; •Pupils make two ABC of Pinocchio, in Italian and in English; • Pupils organize a show of Pinocchio, in the mother tongue and English.

    STEPS OF THE PROJECT
    I ^ phase:
    • Preparation of a Skype video conference in order to allow students to meet again.
    • Reading in the native language and in English along the chosen fairy tale "The Adventures of Pinocchio"
    • Understanding and analysis of the text in Italian and English.
    • Comparison of Pinocchio needs with the International Charter on the Rights.
    • Choice of scenes to be illustrated on the calendar.
    • Creating a Power Point presentation in partnership.
    • Production of a  calendar 2016 in partnership.
    • Exchange  Christmas greetings on Padlet.
    ^ Phase II:
    • Preparation of a lively song.
    • Exchange of information for the knowledge of the typical masks of the Carnival of their own country.
    • Division of tasks between the partner schools.
    • Presentation of the masks with Power Point / Superlame.
    • Construction of the puppet in artistic and creative key.
    ^ Phase III:
    • Preparation of a choreographed dance in imitation of the movements made by the puppet.
    • Production of an ABC book in rhyme on the fairy tale of Pinocchio, in the mother tongue.
    • Production, by the Italian students, alphabet of Pinocchio in English, each letter is represented by a character or object of the tale; Portuguese students will realize an audio recording of the reading of the alphabet.
    ^ Phase IV:
    • Preparation of an eTwinning stand in the collective exhibition of the Institute.
    • Staging of a play for parents
    FINAL PRODUCTS IN COLLABORATION
    • Power Point Presentation with rights and duties of children, through the tale of Pinocchio.

    FASI DEL PROGETTO

    I^ Fase:

    • Predisposizione di una videoconferenza skype al fine di permettere agli alunni di rivedersi.
    • Lettura in lingua madre e in Inglese della fiaba scelta insieme: “ Le Avventure di Pinocchio”
    • Comprensione ed analisi del testo in italiano e in inglese.
    • Comparazione dei bisogni di Pinocchio con la Carta Internazionale per i Diritti dell’Infanzia.
    • Scelta delle scene da illustrare sul calendario.
    • Creazione di una presentazione Power Point, in collaborazione.
    • Produzione di un calendario 2016, in collaborazione.
    • Scambi di auguri di Natale su Padlet.

    II^ Fase:

    • Preparazione di un canto animato.
    • Scambio di informazioni per la conoscenza delle maschere tipiche del Carnevale del proprio Paese.
    • Suddivisione dei compiti tra le scuole partner.
    • Presentazione delle maschere con Power Point/Superlame.
    • Costruzione del burattino in chiave artistico-creativo.

    III^ Fase:

    • Preparazione coreografica di un ballo su imitazione dei movimenti compiuti dal burattino.
    • Produzione di un Abbecedario in rima sulla fiaba di Pinocchio, in lingua madre.
    • Produzione, da parte degli alunni italiani, dell’alfabeto di Pinocchio in inglese, ogni lettera sarà rappresentata da un personaggio o un oggetto della fiaba; gli alunni portoghesi realizzeranno una registrazione audio della lettura dell’alfabeto.

    IV^ Fase:

    • Allestimento di uno stand eTwinning alla mostra collettiva di Istituto.
    • Messa in scena di uno spettacolo teatrale per i genitori

    PRODOTTI FINALI IN COLLABORAZIONE

    • Presentazione Power Point con Diritti e Doveri dei bambini, attraverso la fiaba di Pinocchio.
    • The students built a prototype of Pinocchio in both countries and shared in the TwinSpace

    • Padlet per lo scambio di auguri di Natale
    • Abbecedario di Pinocchio - Power point made by Italian students. On the same work, the students of Portugal made the recording of the same alphabet of Pinocchio and put in Voicethread recordings with their voices.
    • Participation of both countries in a Skype video conference, which served to present the masks of their countries and share both the work they have been doing on hsitória Pinocchio, as well as traditions and customs of their country. Also they sang songs
    • Padlet: My Book Report per esprimere un’opinione sul libro.
    • Portuguese students tested throughout the year three songs in English with music and lyrics written by professor Nuno Miguel Cascalho, entitled "Pinocchio's miracle", "Pinocchio's lie" and "Pinocchio's change" on story of Pinocchio and share placing on Soundcloud.
    • Portuguese students represented the story of "The Adventures of Pinocchio" in play throughout the class and presented to parents with music and dancing to follow.
