GERMANY
CONTRA
The Alternative for Germany (AfD) wants all citizens to have a stronger participation in important decisions because they think that the EU should be there for the citizens and not the other way round. According to them, tax advantages for EU civil servants, judges, and EU officials must be reduced. In their opinion, everyone is equal. The expenses of the EU-budget should be lowered.
If you look at the party's ideology, you can see that they are quite right-wing extremist.
The National-Democratic Party of Germany (NPD) is against immigration to Germany and demands controls at the borders. They want to abolish the Euro and introduce the D-Mark in Germany again, too. Nevertheless, the NPD is a very radical party who is very similar to the National-Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP) from the times of World War II and most German and European parties think that the party should be abolished. For that reason, you should not take the ideas of the NPD too seriously.
The Left (Die Linke) thinks that the European Union controls the living conditions and the daily routine of the people too much.
PRO
Even though there are some parties who are against the EU, there are many parties that absolutely support the European Union.
The Free Democratic Party (FDP) supports the European Union, especially the trade investment TTIP. They are also in favour of Turkey bevoming a member state of the EU, under conditions agreed in advance.
The Christian-Social Union (CSU) and the Christian-Democratic Union (CDU) are strong supporters for the European Union.
THE NETHERLANDS
Against:
The PVV and its leader Geert Wilders do not propogate the European Union. Their main reason is the Islam. They warn from islamization and want everbody to fight against it. The European Union wants to give people in war zones a better life, the PVV wants to close the borders and ignore all the migrants who come in.
VoorNederland is a parliamentary group in the House of Represantatives of the Netherlands. They are pro-Europe but against the EU, the party thinks that Europe should go back to financial collaboration.
The SP and its leader Emile Roemer are a left orientated party which criticizes capitalism and wants general democratization for the society. This is not equal to the ideas of the European Union.
Pro:
D66, and their leader Alexander Pechtold, manifests as the most pro-European party in the Netherlands, as the party calls for a federal Europe in the pamphlet "The United States of Europe '.
CDA was founded in 1977. Their leader is Sybrand van Haersma Buma. They base themselves on the Bible and Christian traditions. One of their main points is Justice, this is one of the biggest points of the EU. This makes them pro-European.
The PvdA. The leader is Diederik Samsom. Their ideology is about social democracy. One of the most important points is that everybody is equal. This is the same for the EU.
HUNGARY
Contra
>MSZP (Hungarian Socialists' Party):
They think that the EU is important but protecting the Hungarian interests is more important. They don’t want to give up national sovereignty.
Jobbik (Right Radicals):
They are highly sceptic of the EU. This group welcomes the existence of the EU, but fights intensively against the restriction of national sovereignty. It emphasizes only the disadvantages of the EU, because Hungary is not independent. It supports only its common policy.
Pro:
LMP (Politics can be something different):
They are in favour of the EU. This party is committed to the cooperation of the member states. They support the introduction of the common currency, so the fiscal union as soon as possible. On the other hand they criticize the EU for its arbitrariness towards the countries.
Géza Jeszenszky is a Hungarian politician and associate professor, former Minister of Foreign Affairs. He began to make efforts to incorporate the Euro-Atlantic structures, completed successfully (in 1999 and 2004). In the 90`s he created connection between Hungary and other nations, especially with the USA. These were our first steps to join the EU.
ITALY
Pro
Alcide De Gasperi was an Italian statesman and politician who founded the Christian Democracy party. He thinks that the future can't be built with force, but with the respect of freedom.
Altiero Spinelli decided to run in the first direct elections to the European Parliament in 1979. He was elected and used the position to urge the first elected parliament to use its democratic legitimacy to propose a radical reform of the European Community, to transform it into a democratic European state. He wanted to develop European politics in a new field and take responsibility for industrial policy.
The Democratic Party (PD) is lead by Matteo Renzi. They are influenced by the ideas of the social democracy and the Christians left. The PD PD thinks that the common goal of every Italian citizen is having one single nationality and one single person, as Europe as a single nation. The European Diplomacy has to overlap with a daily foreign policy.
Contra
The Five Star Movement is lead by Beppe Grillo. They want Italian people to participate directly at the diplomacy of the state. This speaks against the rules of the EU.
Lega Nord's president is Umberto Bossi. They are a regionalistic political party in Italy whose ideology contains political federalism, fiscal federalism and regionalism. They want to turn Italy into a federal state. Also,they are really xenophobic, what does not fit into the ideas of the European Union.
