INTERNATIONAL WOMEN´S DAY AT OUR SCHOOLS

“Gender Equality is a principle that states that all men and women need to be treated equally and to have the same rights despite their biological differences. These should not prevent them from having the same opportunities to succeed in school and in life.“
Unfortunately, we are far from achieving SDG 5 and oppressive and damaging gender norms exist even in the most gender-equal countries. According to analysis undertaken by Plan International NO COUNTRY on earth is on track to achieve true gender equality by 2030*
We as teachers support gender equality and address this topic in our lessons to help forge a gender equal world - something women & men profit from alike.
However, achieving SDG5 is a process and it can only become reality if we constantly reflect on our actions and behavior.
