Are our cities sustainable enough?
Castellón progresses in sustainable matters following the guidelines issued by the United Nations and, in the first national exam that evaluates our degree of involvement, the results are very positive.
Castellón is the fifth city of all the provincial capitals and municipalities with more than 80,000 inhabitants that have been tested in Spain, meeting four of the 17 sustainable development goals set by the UN in its 2030 Agenda. All the initiatives promoted by the City Council are aimed at promoting the economic and social growth of our city with the utmost respect for the environment and social cohesion.
These are the results that emerge from the report “The Sustainable Development Goals in 100 Spanish cities”, which highlights our commitment with clean water and sanitation; submarine life; peace, justice and strong institutions and alliances to achieve these purposes.
