Buckwheat painkiller heater (Andreja Dragovan)
Embroidery has always been used by women in the Slovenian countryside and in cities. Their activity, typically by the landscape, was passed down from generation to generation, especially to girls. They made items for everyday use throughout the year. In doing so, they used materials they had made and made at home, flax, hemp, comex...
As part of this workshop, students will produce a painkiller heater filled with buckwheat husks.
1. Fold and sew the cotton fabric to obtain the bag. They fill it with buckwheat husks and sew the top.
2. Any pattern shall be tied to embroidery goods. Traditional colors are blue and red, and students can choose any color.
3. Fold and sew to get the bag.
They insert a pad stuffed with buckwheat husk in it. They're going to get it at the top.
4. Buckwheat painkillers heat up and place on a painful part of the body.
