Creating videos / puzzles and games about the places that are on the world Heritages list in our neighbourhood and all around the world with web 2 tools. Creating a story jumper and Introducing these places to the group members If we can we will visit the museums or the ancient sites in our regions and share our findings using web tools. With the help of this work the students will be able to learn more about their and the team members' historical places and will have the opportunity to express themselves by engaging in the activity in person. They wiil also develop self confidence using English effectively. Alternatively: Students divided into five groups discover the traces of different cultures in their city and mainly those of the antiquity. They take part in a "treasure hunt": "In the trail of different cultures in their city”., a virtual tour in a Museum. The teacher has to prepare a leaflet with questions concerning each monument or exhibit in a museum that the students will visit. The students have to be able to observe the “information” that a monument offers concerning its constructor/founder (inscription, coats of arms..), the date of its construction etc., to obtain information about a Museum’s exhibit or for a monument from the informative inscriptions or by posing questions to specialists and students have to learn more about this exhibit searching its place in the museums. For every (correct) answer a piece of a puzzle is gained. The puzzle can be from 12 pieces. The image of treasure is formed at the end, when the twelve pieces are gained. The treasure can be an exhibit in the museum etc.. After the virtual visit the students in groups create a collaborative presentation using the web 2.0 tools google slides or create a collaborative digital storytelling from the point of view of a student visiting a monument or an exhibit during the "treasure hunt" of the previous day. The digital storytelling will be created using Windows Movie Maker , a web2.0 tool. How we create a digital storytelling: After an introduction to the theoretical issues of the subject, students create their own digital storytelling about monuments and archaeological sites of their countries. You can see here the presentation about the theoretical issues and a video. You can see also here an exemple of a digital storytelling about GrandMasters' Palace in Rhodes from the point of view of a student visiting this monument during a "treasure hunt" .To creating the video, we can use movie maker. |
