We want to introduce you - joint chain task

  • CHAIN JOINT TASK

To introduce our painters and their work we decided during our Transnational Meeting 3 in Finland to do a chain task.

Each country chose 1 - 3 painters and their most paintings. Then they sent to the next partner in the chain names, painting, and its characteristics. The school will also explain the reasons why we have chosen them.

Then the partner drew or painted pictures that could be a copy of the chosen picture or got inspired by the style to create another picture. Then they chose their country painters and sent it to the next partner in the chain.

This was the plan but it took a lot of time and we wanted to finish this task by the Transnational Meeting 4 in Czechia in March 2019. Because there were also many holiday days in this period and other duties, in the end, we were happy to send the names of the painters and paintings and characteristics.

    The outcome of the chain:

    The painting chain was:

    Spain - Finland - Croatia - Italy - Romania - Poland - Czechia - Spain

    OUTCOME - PAINTINGS

Our paintings inspired by the given painters and styles are here.

    Chosen painters and pictures:

    Spain

    1) JOAQUÍN SOROLLA: RUNNING ALONG THE BEACH

Sorolla is probably the most famous Valencian artist in history. His work is exhibited in museums throughout Spain, Europe, and America.

He excelled in the painting of portraits, landscapes, and monumental works of social and historical themes.

    2) PABLO PICASSO: GUERNICA

The painting was done with a palette of gray, black, and white, and is regarded by many art critics as one of the most moving and powerful anti-war paintings in history.

    3) DIEGO VELÁZQUEZ: LAS MENINAS

Las Meninas has been one of the most widely analyzed works in western painting and it’s one f the most famous in Spanish Art History.

    Finland

    AKSELI GALLEN KALLELA: KULLERVON KIRKUS

We picked to paint Kullervos Curse because it represents a Finnish mentality and it is a very famous Finnish painting

    Croatia

    1) IVAN RABUZIN: THREE FLOWERS

Rabuzin's paintings are very popular in Croatia and the world, as he defined his style among the naive painters of the 20th century referred to as "peindre a la Rabuzin". This painting gives a balanced and stable, yet growing impression.

    2) IVAN GENERALIĆ: DEAR IN THE FOREST

He became the most celebrated Yugoslav naive painter and the central figure of a group of naive painters known as the HLEBINE SCHOOL. We wanted to compare Rabuzin's and his works, showing the same style but different meanings and impressions.

    Italy

    1) Carlo Carrà: MOTHER AND SON

Because he is one of the most important Italian and Piedmontese painters and because this painting’s style can be easily applied to other paintings based on human figures.

    2) Giacomo Balla: DYNAMISM OF A DOG ON A LEASH

Because the painter is from Turin and this painting is one of the most important in futurism style and because his technique can be applied in many funny and interesting ways,

    Romania

    1) Ştefan Luchian: ANEMONES

I chose this painting because Stefan Luchian is one of the greatest Romanian painters. As a sick man, since 1908 he has focused his attention on flowers, which have been a means of communicating moments of suffering or moments of victory. Since 1909, the painter paralyzed but continued to work with her hand brush, which made her flowers become true masterpieces.

    2) Gheorghe Petraşcu: ROCK AT THE SEA

We chose this painting because we love the sea, nature and the painter is born in Tecuci, in the area where we live.

    Poland

    1) Władysław Ślewiński: ANEMONES

    2) Julian Fałat: WINTER LANDSCAPE

    3) Jan Matejko: ASTRONOMER COPERNICUS

    Czechia

    1) ALFONS MARIA  MUCHA: CZECH REPUBLIC FIRST POST STAMP

Alfons Mucha was one of the most important artists of the time. His works were known all over the world. Its style was unique and it is no wonder that the mark of Hradčany is beautiful. Alfons Mucha did not have any stamping experience, he did a great job. The Hradčany postage stamps are very popular among collectors. Also, the silhouette of Hradčany is typical for Prague and it can be fun for pupils to look for other interesting places in our country and suggest a stamp. He also painted paintings called Slav Epic and a lot of calendars and posters

    2) JAN ZRZAVÝ: SUNDAY IN CAMARET

We like the atmosphere, sun, sea, and boats.

    3) JOSEF ČAPEK: AEROPLANE

The colours are bright, we can see the real objects even though the author represents cubism. It reminds children´s way of drawing and we think it can be a nice introduction to cubism to little children.

Most countries managed also to do the new paintings but we had a problem sharing them.
