Our institution was built in 1998-1999 by the Ministry of Education. There are 300 students in primary part and 300 students in middle part. Students are aged from 5 to 14. Most of the students live around the school and some of them come from nearby villages by the school bus. Education and economy level of the students' families differ; farmers, workers, doctors, engineers, teachers, housewives, officers or unemployments... In the kindergarten class there are two disabled students. One is autistic and the other is physically disabled. Besides we have a special education class for two autistic middle school students with special teachers and curriculum. They are part of us and we embrace them.
There are 33 teachers, two directors, one officer and 3 staff in our school.Lessons start at 08:30, lunch time between 12:15 and 13:15, finish at 15:45.There are seven lessons everyday, including twenty minutes reading time everyday.
Our institution has got 23 classes, a meeting room, a photocopy room,a library a canteen and a kindergarten class. The school garden is 3359 m2 with trees and flowers. There are sports activities and a game park in the garden.Our school is technologically well-developed. Every class has got a computer and a projection.
Our institution, Cumhuriyet Primary and Middle School is in Biga.Biga is a town and district of Çanakkale Province in the Marmara Region of Turkey. It is located on the Biga River, 90 km northeast of Çanakkale city center.Population is 37,196. Biga is located in a very advantaged area.It is like a bridge to big cities Bursa, İstanbul ,İzmir in Marmara Region. Transportation is very easy. There can be weekend trips to many historical places. Industry is available in Biga. Nearest sea is just 20 km away.Climate is the Mediterranean climate which is hot and dry in summers, cool and rainy in winters.So, there are many touristic summer places around Biga. Besides, Biga is socially developed. The center of Comu faculty of Economincs and Administrative Sciences is in Biga. There are 5.000 university students living in Biga. Social activities and cinema are available and Biga is famous for its thermal baths.
Our mission and vision is to grow up students who are open-minded, responsible, happy, successful, love his nation and country, bound to Atatürk and his revolutions. So, we are active. We have many social , educational and cultural activities during the education year.
we are open to innovations, we always want to be one step forward, want to improve teaching and learning practices. Our activities in 2012-2013 education year; Eskişehir Trip, Theatre Activity, 29th October Republic Day, 10th November Ceremony for Atatürk, 24th November Teachers' Day, 23rd April Children's Day, Creative Street Festival, Fire and Earthquake Practise, Technological Conception Exhibition, Knowledge Competition, Picnic Organization, Dinners with teachers and school-family union members. In our institution for the middle part of the school, there are twelve subjects; Turkish, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Physical Education, Religion, Music, Art, Computer and Technology and Design.
Our institution attended Worldwide Innovative Teachers Leadership Award 2011-2012 by Microsoft and the Ministry of Education and Education Technology Directory. There was a forum in Antalya in June 2011. Our primary aim with the project is, spreading computer supported education in all schools. We aim to use the graphic tablet which has widely used in comics and design technology, instead of smart board in all lessons. The graphic tablet can nearly do everything the smart board does but ten times cheaper. With Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 Screen Capture video recording programme, students will not miss a lesson even if they miss the school that day. With our project, teachers can e-mail the subject or post it to the web site when students miss the lesson. MS Powerpoint, MS One Note, MS Movie Maker, MS Picture Manager and Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 Screen Capture programmes are widely used. With One Note, we make the essential changes on the displays without worrying to loose data. With Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 Screen Capture, we achieve teaching without time and place boundries. Common use of cost effective graphic tablet in all schools, includinglow budget ones will increase the quality of education. Therefore, we will achieve our target of supporting the society. As a result, our institution's project was the third in Turkey. After that our project took attention and a group of World Teachers Group from Australia came to visit our school in March 2012.
We had two projects in 2012-2013 education year.. First one is; we attend South Marmara Development Agency to develop our education system more. Our aim is to use Multiple Intelligences Theory effectively in the lessons. We won the 50.000 Euro support, and made sports center, information and reading center, art center, nature center, discovery center, design center, music center, and resting center in the school with the latest technological devices. Teachers also had education about Multiple Intelligences Theory.
Second one is; we attended Turkey Innovative Teachers Leadership Award 2012-2013 in Ankara Capital City Teacher’s House.We were the first in Turkey for Cooperation branch. Our subject is Enjoyable Education with Disabled Children Without Disability. Our slogans are; there is no disability to share the life and respect to disable people are respect to humanity. Because disabled children's problems are not only their problems but also the society's. Being disable is not their choice. So, as a society we have responsibilities. Pitying them does not help them. We should help them to become more self-confident and happier citizens in the society. With the project, we aim to unite the disabled children with the healthy students in class, to accelerate their education by enjoying with the help of KINECT. Kinect is a motion sensing input device by Microsoft for the xbox 360 video game. Based around a webcam style add-on, it enables users to control and interact with the xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures and spoken commands. An autistic child can play table tennis, run or drive a car by Kinect. They learn more by enjoying. Our special education class teachers for autistic students are not much experienced so we want to learn more about special education system for autistic and disabled children. We want to follow the innovations. So we cooperated with Zeynep Bodur Okyay Special Education School which is in Çan district of Çanakkale and 30 km away from Biga. Zeynep Bodur Okyay Special Education School has got more experienced teachers. So disabled students in our school communicated with the disabled students and special teachers in Çan on Skype.
In September 2012, we went to Morocco to attend Middle Asia and Africa Forum for Turkey. Our Project was one of the twenty Project which took the judge’s attention.

Why Thousands of Birds With Eight Stones?
Because Multiple Intelligence Theory has eight different types of intelligences. Here we must talk about Multiple Intelligence Theory. This theory belongs to proffesor Howard Gardner who is a neuropsychologist in Harvard University in America. This theory claims that each person has eight different types of intelligences. These are:
Interpersonal Intelligence
Musical- Rhythmic Intelligence
Naturalistic Intelligence
Visual- Spatial Intelligence
Intrapersonal Intelligence
Verbal- Linguistic Intelligence
Bodily- Kinesthetic Intelligence
Logical- Mathematical Intelligence
According to the theory, people born with all types of intelligences. In time, some of these types become dominant and some become dull. By the way, if we can determine the dominant types in early childhood, we can improve the dominant ones and make the dull ones active. Our new education programmes in our primary and middle schools are prepared with the basic structures of this theory. Especially our heading instruction depends on this theory.
We started branch classroom system in our school but we were lack of material and basic structures. As a result our project was born.
2012-2013 education year started differently for Cumhuriyet Primary and Middle School with the support of South Marmara Development Agency. Our Project was accepted and we had a financial support of 111.111.00 TL. With this support, we made Centers to uncover and improve the different types of intelligences of our students. These centers are:

Sport Center
Another aspect of our Project was educative courses for our teachers. All the teachers joined some courses and educations like Multiple Intelligence Theory, Interactive Class Management, First Aid Education, Social Activities and Improvement of Teachers’ Sufficiency.
As a result, with our Project “Thousands of Birds With Eight Stones” we had financial support and had technological devices for our centers such as smart boards, laptops, voting system, document camera and tablets.
In our school, all the students take part actively in the projects and we aim our Project to proceed. So we can’t think technology without Microsoft. Therefore our new Project is RENEW. Renew Project aims technology to be alive in all our Centes.
We applied Multiple Intelligence Theory Inventory to all the students in our school by voting system and according to results students chose their elective lessons and student clubs.
It was a long period to evaluate Multiple Intelligence Inventory which we applied to our students. We decided to apply the survey by using Likert Scale with the electronic voting system in our school. We had the survey results in a short time with the Office Excel programme. We put the students’ survey results together in SkyDrive in One Note Programme. We sent the results to the class counselor teachers’ e-mail addresses. So, we learnt about students’ strengths and weaknesses. We helped them choose their elective lessons and students clubs to improve their strengths and weaknesses. This application also helps students about their high school and occupation choices.
