    What is a book?

As a physical object, a book is a stack of usually rectangular pages (made of papyrus, parchment, vellum, or paper) oriented with one edge tied, sewn, or otherwise fixed together and then bound to the flexible spine of a protective cover of heavier, relatively inflexible material.

As an intellectual object, a book is prototypically a composition of such great length that it takes a considerable investment of time to compose and a still considerable, though not so extensive, investment of time to read.

Books may be distributed in electronic form as e-books and other formats.

    Can books change your life?

You can change your life after reading a book only when you apply learning from the book to your daily life. Books, especially the good ones, have the power, if you let them, they can change your life in no time, be your guide, serve you and lift you when you need it the most. ... Reading changes you as a person.

After watching the movie" The joy of books", the students shared their excitement in drawings like these:

    1st Kindergarten of Nea Redestos

Children watching the video "The joy of books".

Children loved the video. They said that the books were magical. We discussed about how alve are the books when we read them and we were ready to paint our bags for our Lending library. Each child painted his own bag. The words written are the ones that children said answering the question: "What can a book give to us"?

So, a book can give us

Joy, Laughter, Relax, Pleasure, Dream, Fantasy, Love.

This is our reading corner! And our lending library!

Today we watched in class the motivational video "The joy of books". After the video, the students started making their own books. In the next week we will combine some of their stories to a common one and will send it to our partners from Szkoła Podstawowa im. kpr. Feliksa Ignacego Grabowskiego from Poland. The Polish students will illustrate our story and a collaborative e-book will be created.
