  • POWER PROJECT “UNITED EUROPE” 

    October 21st (Monday) - Arrival of the Polish team at school at around 12.30 (Lunch in the cafeteria). Portuguese students welcome their new friends upon arrival at school and have lessons in the afternoon. Polish students go for a walk to know Famalicão city. Homecoming at 18.20.

    October 22nd (Tuesday) - Presentation of the two groups, respective countries, cities and schools in English (Auditorium) at 10.05. From 8.30 to 9.50 the Polish students prepare their presentation in the auditorium, only with the Polish teachers. Everyone will participate in the Physical Education class.

    Students will have to prepare these presentations beforehand; they will learn how to work with Publisher or another text editing program.In the afternoon the first two pages of the project newspaper will be composed with photographs, description of schools and testimonials of some students about the first day of the project. - “My first day with my Portuguese / Polish friends”. (Visual Education Class) - Homecoming at 16.40.

    October 23rd (Wednesday)- Normal classes for Portuguese students in the morning. Presentation of a popular dance of each country in the afternoon, in the Physical Education class.

    Portuguese students will teach Polish students their traditional dance and Polish students will teach Portuguese students their traditional dance. Students will have to rehearse the dance to be performed beforehand. In groups, they write a short text for the newspaper. A few more testimonials from different students.

    October 24th (Thursday)- Translation of typical recipes. Confection of the typical recipes of each country for the dinner with the host families at school. Photographs of students cooking, translated recipes, and testimonials from another student group in the newspaper.

    October 25th (Friday) – “Corta-Mato” (race) in the morning.  Organization of the Guided Tour to Porto in the afternoon. In groups,  students from both countries choose an emblematic place / monument of  Porto and prepare their presentation for their other colleagues in English. Each group will have to explain what they know about the site / monument. They will thus be making the guided tour. Students will be at school in the afternoon until 5 pm at the Library to finish their assignments. Students have previously done research on places to visit in Porto.

    October 26th (Saturday) - Trip to Porto by train, visit and lunch in Porto. Visit to "Lello Bookshop" and "The World of Discoveries" Museum. Return by train. Photographs and eventually a video. The newspaper will be finalized. An eTwinning Project will be carried out at the same time. The platform will also serve for the students involved to contact.
