  • Welcome to our Christmas project.

     

    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    “Christmas lights, Christmas bells hanging on the tree, 
    I’ll send you a Christmas card if you send one to me” 

    We want to share this Christmas feeling by exchanging handmade cards and good wishes written in English with every school participating in the project. The students will make Christmas cards using various techniques and send them to all partner schools by traditional mail. 

     

    This is the sixth edition of the project.

     

    PARTICIPANTS

    We are from a number of countries around Europe: Poland,  Estonia, Portugal, Lithuania, Romania, Madeira - Portugal, Turkey, Latvia, Bulgaria, Italy, Tenerife - Spain, Spain, Slovakia, Croatia.

    AIMS

    To send and receive Christmas cards; to share the unique Christmas feeling and bless others with good wishes; to open up our minds and use English to communicate with new friends; to expand students’ cultural and geographical knowledge; to find out about Christmas traditions in other countries. 

    WORK PROCESS

    * We collect addresses of all partner schools. 
    * Teachers introduce themselves using Padlet. 
    * Students present themselves and their schools in our TwinSpace - uploding a photo, a short video, etc. 
    * We learn some basic facts about countries participating in the project. (flags and capitals)
    * We motivate our students to design and make Christmas cards with simple wishes in English. We take the photos and upload them to our Twinspace. 
    * We send two handmade cards to every partner schools by traditional post. 
    * We create a Christmas tradition book. 
    * We create Christmas connected online games, quizes, crosswords for our students using different ICT tools. 
    * We make a poster or organize a classroom display of received Christmas cards. 
    * A video call with the partner schools (if possible) – discuss the project; sing carols together.
    * Evaluation of the project. 

     

    EXPECTED RESULTS

    A classroom display of received Christmas cards; photographs uploaded to TwinSpace; Students using English as a tool of communication and getting in touch with pupils from other countries; expanding students’ cultural and geographical knowledge; Video calls between schools; Communication, mainly in English, using various ICT tools.
