CRETE mobility: 27 march - 1 april 2022

  • From 27 March to 01 April 2022 the third mobility of the Erasmus + KA229 project took place in Crete “… And so we went out to see the stars”.

Truly a wonderful experience for the participating delegations, a dip into history and mythology, colors, flavors and Greek traditions without losing sight of the scientific aspects most closely linked to the project.

The peoples of all civilizations have imagined a celestial vault populated by magical and fantastic figures and, from a cultural point of view, the island of Crete has always been a source of inspiration for numerous poets and writers and has an enormous charm linked to myths and to the legends. Students and teachers participating in this mobility had the opportunity to retrace the places that saw the birth of the myth of “Europe”.

Geographically, moreover, this mobility took place in the southernmost point of the entire partnership, allowing everyone involved to see directly how latitude affects the different vision of the sky as well as on the climate and landscape and indirectly on the history of development. human.

The host school held several seminars on Greek mythology and the students of the guest delegations were able to exhibit the works prepared at the school by comparing myths belonging to different cultures to detect similarities and differences. The scheduled excursions are of great interest: the guided tour of the historic center of Heraklion, the Historical Museum, the Archaeological Museum and, unmissable, the guided tour of the Palace of Knossos.

The Greek school also organized various initiatives for its guests starting from the wonderful welcome with a music and dance show in which the protagonists were pupils and teachers of the school. The delegations were able to try typical Cretan products, listen to popular music, learn traditional dances and attend the laying ceremony of the Polar Pointer.
